Josh Groban recently went on a very special blind date – with Monty, a rescue dog – as part of The Dodo’s “Dodo Dream Date” series.
This fun project, in partnership with Hill’s Food, pairs celebrities with rescue animals to raise awareness about adoption.
When Josh arrived, he didn’t come empty-handed.
From the start, it was clear this wasn’t going to be your typical date – but it was going to be full of laughs and heartwarming moments.
For those who don’t know, Josh Groban is more than just a superstar with an incredible voice.
He’s behind hits like “You Raise Me Up” and has been charming audiences for over two decades with his music, acting, and down-to-earth personality.
On top of that, Josh is passionate about giving back, especially when it comes to education and the arts.
His love for animals made him the perfect candidate for this quirky adventure, and Monty was in for quite the treat.
Determined to give Monty a day to remember, Josh took him to a popsicle stand, thinking it would be the perfect icebreaker.
But Monty had other plans – he quickly rejected both the light red and orange popsicle flavors Josh offered.
Apparently, Monty’s taste is as sophisticated as his personality.
Josh laughed it off, of course, joking about Monty’s selective palate.
Another funny moment came when Monty suddenly became fascinated by a bug, completely ignoring Josh.
Quick on his feet, Josh called him the “Snow White of dogs” for his ability to charm all living creatures – except, apparently, humans trying to feed him popsicles.
These little moments of distraction showed Monty’s quirky and curious nature, and Josh couldn’t help but laugh at his new furry friend’s whimsical tendencies.
The next stop on their adventure was hilariously playing a giant piano.
Josh introduced Melanie from Global Arts, a program that provides free music education to kids in Los Angeles.
Josh enthusiastically encouraged Monty to give the piano a try, urging him to step on the keys.
Monty, ever the good sport, pawed at the piano while Josh jokingly declared him a “musical genius.”
As their fun-filled day came to an end, Josh reflected on his time with Monty.
He admitted it took a little work to win Monty’s affection, but that’s what makes relationships, whether with people or pets, so rewarding.
Josh’s sincere affection for Monty shone through, making it clear he’d grown quite fond of his four-legged date.
This heartwarming day was all part of The Dodo’s effort to raise awareness for animal adoption, in partnership with Hill’s Science Diet and their Food, Shelter & Love program.
The initiative focuses on providing essential nutrition to shelter pets, just like Monty, while highlighting the importance of adopting rescue animals.
For Monty and other shelter pets, programs like this help give them the best shot at finding loving homes.
The best news of all? After their dream date, Monty found his forever home!
