For many people, Christopher Hopkins, A.K.A. the Makeover Guy, is a well-known, household nameโ Joann Hopkins, however? Well, not so much.
Christopher Hopkins, self-proclaimed entrepreneur, author, and media personality, was heavily influenced by his mother Joann while growing up.
Joann had always been a diva at heart and dreamed of living like a star.
Unfortunately, due to limitations, she was forced to work a variety of jobs to help support Christopher and make ends meet. Model, photographer assistant, personal shopperโ whatever Joann was doing, she always did it with style.
While Joann is an expert when it comes to fashion, being hired to do silhouette analyses at Christopherโs salon, she admits to partaking in beauty habits that arenโtโฆ. very good. In a former video uploaded by The Makeover Guy, she admits that she never removes her makeup except to apply a fresh look.
โI go through surgery with my makeup on,โ she told the camera. โI donโt take my makeup off at night. Why do I want to go to bed with the person I love looking like Hell?โ
Despite Joannโs commitment to beauty, dermatologists say this is an extremely bad habit. Dr. Eric Schweiger told The Huffington Post that sleeping in makeup increases oneโs exposure to free radicals which then breaks down healthy collagen and result in fine lines and premature aging. Over time, it can also lead to uncomfortable skin conditions like bacterial acne. Despite these risks, Joann must not be a mere mortal like the rest of us. Her skin has remained impeccable.
Throughout the video, you see Joann applying makeup like her younger self.
She says people think sheโs too old for makeup nowโ but that doesnโt bother her one bit.
After decades of practice, her makeup skills are impressive. She expertly applies foundation, eye shadow, and cat-eye eyeliner. By the time sheโs done, she looks like a different person. In the caption, The Makeover Guy writes:
