He has the charm turned up to eleven and wins everyone over the second he walks on stage. He begins his performance explaining his simple goal. When asked what made him want to audition for Australia’s Got Talent, his answer is perfect:

“I just wanted to be able to…make all of Australia laugh.”

His giggle at the end of the performance is so contagious that the judges and audience can’t help but love him. Judges rave that he is more talented than the other comedians they have seen.

“You’re so cute. I’m a little scared of you.” comments judge Nicole Scherzinger. JJ’s repsonse, “Well, what can you say?”

“You are the funniest seven-year-old I have ever met.” says judge Manu Feildel.

The judges continue to rave and congratulate him on having the stage presence on someone much older. Judge Shane Jacobson explains that his career started when he was ten years old on the stage of Australia’s Got Talent. He knows that small beginnings can lend a lucky break. But that isn’t the end.

Judge Shane Jacobson reaches across the table and presses the golden buzzer.

JJ’s parents rush out on stage as the golden confetti falls like rain from the ceiling. The golden buzzer sends him straight to the semi-finals. They hug and high-five as the crowd cheers him on. JJ’s father laughs as he said they have more jokes to write as a celebration for moving on in the competition.
