There are some people that are put on this earth with a true calling. They are born with a talent that far exceeds everyone elseโs attempts. A young teen named Jimelle Levon is most certainly one of these people.
Unfortunately for Jimelle, at only 18 years old, he has had to overcome challenges that many of us will never face in our entire lives. Jimelleโs story is one of the most inspiring Iโve come across in quite some time.
At just 10 years old โ Jimelleโs mother became homeless and they bounced around from shelter to shelter.

During this nomadic and unstable time, Jimelle was determined to never give up on life. He knew he wanted to make something of himself despite all of the hardships heโs had to endure.
At the age of 14 years old, Jimelle decided to take up the hobby of sewing.
Four years later, Jimelle created a prom dress that would forever change his life.

The inspiration for Jimelleโs incredible creation came from the 80โs movie โComing to America.โ The talented teen created a suit for himself and a gorgeous gown for his date โ covered in gold appliquรฉ.
The results were absolutely stunning. As soon as the pictures hit the internet โ it was immediately shared dozens and dozens of times.
The pictures of the gown caught the attention of comedian and TV host Steve Harvey โ inviting Jimelle onto his show.

Jimelle now attends Clark Atlanta University in Georgia as a full-time student โ he is simultaneously running his own fashion company. The young designer already has a waiting list for his gowns.
His custom gowns sell for around $450.

Many people are lining up to support this talented young man, however, he admits that he is focusing on his studies and gets behind on his orders, hence the wait list.
Nonetheless, Jimelle is becoming an inspiration to many people in his community and across the country. He is certainly no stranger to hard work.
โMe and my mother lived in a shelter before, when I was in fifth grade,โ Jimelle told WCMH News. โFrom there on, once I hit sixth grade, I was always a hard worker, either shoveling the snow or anything to gain money, because I didnโt want to be in the predicament anymore.โ
Jimelleโs story should give everyone hope for our future. Itโs teens like him that are making such an incredible difference in the world. Watch his interview below.
