I think we have all been there, except maybe for the part about going live on air.
Things got a little crazy when Jenna Bush Hager spilled coffee on her outfit just a minute and a half before air time. Luckily for all the fans, Hoda Kotb got it all on tape and shared it on Instagram. The video showing the crew frantically drying the stain quickly went viral.
Chaos!
Hoda captioned the video with “Oh nothing … 1 min 30 seconds to air and Jenna spilled a cup of coffee on her dress!! I love this girl!” It is something that could happen to the best of us. Jenna spilled her morning coffee while she was trying to pour it into the garbage.
Saved!
With a team of experts hard at work, Jenna made it on air seconds away from 10 a.m. Fans couldn’t resist but to comment how great Jenna looks in the blue dress. “That dress is darling! Loved it.“ someone wrote on Hoda’s Instagram.
Something else the fans loved was just how relatable the situation was. It feels great to know that at the beginning of the show celebrities are just like everyone else: nervous and human. “You’re human! That’s what we love about you,“ wrote another fan on the same Instagram post.

Celebrities are rarely caught with a stain on their dress, but it does happen. One such moment was when Dita Von Tesse spilled something on herself at the Lambretz Monday Night Schoko & Fashion Party (YourNextShoes). The event took place in 2010 and it is worth noting that Dita was as cool as the other side of the pillow.
All is well that ends well, but the real question here is how did they manage to remove a coffee stain in less than two minutes? The crew had it all figured out, if it were not for the video, we wouldn’t have a clue that anything had happened. The dress looked spotless.
The best way to remove coffee stains from clothing
First, you will need the right tools. Tide to Go Instant Stain Remover and Spray and Wash Pre-Treat Stain Stick seem to work the best.
- The first step is to sponge the stain with cool water. Alternatively, you could let the stained piece soak in cool water for half an hour.
- Use a Tide to Go Pen and remove the stain as much as possible.
- Lastly, treat the stained spot with a prewash stain remover like the Stain Stick.
- Launder as usual.
If you like your coffee black, the process above will do the trick. But what happens if your coffee has milk or cream in it? The problem with milk is that it has fat as well as protein and you will need enzymes to break it down.
Luckily, the detergent companies have solved that one for us. All you need is a detergent with enzymes, like Tide Coldwater Clean Liquid Laundry Detergent. Just follow the label, have patience, and don’t get too stressed. It will all wash out in the rinse cycle.
