While you might think her husband might give her some lavish or crazy gift for their 10-year anniversary, but he decided to go the sentimental route instead.

He gave her a photo album with photos of her grandparents at their wedding. It was the perfect gift for his wife.

Jenna shared one of the photos in the album and said:

“The best anniversary gift from my husband: pictures from 10 years ago of my grandparents at our wedding. A reminder: Life is precious and goes by too fast.”

Jenna’s grandmother recently passed away, and the loss has been hard on the family.

She was the rock of the family, and Jenna was very close to her. On the day of Barbara Bush’s funeral, Jenna read a speech. She said:

“I hope you know in your final days how many people prayed for you. How many people told me they loved you. People stopped me everywhere — in airports, on the street — and declared their love for you. We called you the enforcer. It was because you were a force and you wrote the rules. Your rules were simple: treat everyone equally, don’t look down on anyone, use your voices for good, read all the great books.”

Jenna has always been amazed by the love her grandparents shared.

She talked about it in her speech, too:

“You and Gampy embodied unconditional love. I will pass your love letters down to my children, so they know what true devotion looks like.”

Shortly after Barbara’s funeral, Jenna shared a photo of herself with her grandma and grandpa.

She said:

“I already miss this FORCE of a woman— the ‘enforcer’ because she was the glue that held our family together. She taught me to use my voice but also to value the opinions of others. She adored her friends and family; her loyalty was unwavering. Humor helps, she often said and it does, Gans, but I will miss your laugh terribly. She adored my Gampy, the first man she ever kissed; their love story is so ingrained in the history of our family. Thinking of my Gampy tonight —no doubt missing his beloved desperately. Gans, people stopped me all the time to tell me how much they loved you. I didn’t mind sharing you with them. I love you more than tongue can tell, my Ganny.”

While Jenna is thrilled to be celebrating her anniversary, she still misses her grandma and worries about her grandpa.

When asked how he was handling things, she said:

“He misses her, of course. He loved her, he loves fiercely, but because he loves so fiercely, I think in his own way, in his old age, he’s trying to be the one to make the jokes because he doesn’t want us to worry about him.”

One of the photos Jenna shared from her gift is of her grandparents speaking at the wedding about their own marriage and relationship.

You can see the love in their eyes, and it’s a photo that Jenna holds dear to her heart.

Barbara and George were only 16 years old when they met. They were together for over 76 years and never left each other’s sides. It’s the kind of love story everyone hopes for, including Jenna. While she and her husband have made it 10 years, they still have a ways to go to catch up to her grandparents.

If Jenna has it her way, she will do just that.
