Many people with tons of talent have reached for a taste of fame, and that’s what 34-year-old Jason Brock did by auditioning on the hit show The X Factor.
He wanted to show the world what he was like and where he was from.
He spoke about it on The X Factor USA:
“When we get in there I’m gonna show them true San Francisco.”
And that’s just what he did.
A confident contestant
Showing a huge amount of confidence, even before he went on stage, Jason was convinced that his audition would be a complete success.
The singer mentioned that he works in tech support and helps many people but that he doesn’t want to do that his whole life. Instead, he is opting for music, which is something that he loves and enjoys.
Who wouldn’t want to spend life doing something that they genuinely love?
A stage presence worth remembering
He has a very fun and excitable personality and got the crowd roaring just by stepping on stage. Jason even managed to make a friend in line waiting for his shot. His personality is just magnetic.
Showing off his incredible confidence, Jason winked at the judges and said that everyone already knew how talented he was before it was even his time to sign.
He described how his ideal performance would be, with a dark smokey stage, with him rising to the sky with two dancers by his side, and a big glitter explosion.
Simon Cowell, the man we all know who needs to be impressed, asked him what he was going to sing, and Jason said Billy Joel’s the “New York State of Mind” because it matches up with his very own flavor and personality.
The performance
He began his impressive and soulful performance of the song astounding the judges and audience with his pure skill and emotion.
Members of the audience stood in respect and appreciation, and the judges whispered to each other about how much they loved his singing.
Once he finished with his performance, there was an uproar of applause. Jason even received praise from Simon Cowell, the famously critical judge, saying that he was prepared for the worst but in the end loved the song and execution.
The judging wasn’t done. The other judges still needed to get in their own thoughts. Jason was also called completely flawless with unbelievable talent.
An amazing start
In the end, during the final vote, every single judge said yes to his performance and sent him straight to The X Factor Bootcamp to perfect his skill and skyrocket his budding career. After that show, he didn’t go on to win but did end up making it to the top 10.
Jason’s story will forever be a truly inspirational tale of how now matter what you come from, whether it’s music college or a career in tech support, that you can still make it in the end.
You just need to have faith in yourself, confidence, and the energy to put into achieving your goals.
And we would say it works. Jason went on to do more competing and performing. The artist is still enjoying his music career today.
