In a video that has gotten nearly nine million views and eighty thousand likes just on YouTube alone, Iveta Tumasonyte has stunned everyone with her incredible vocal abilities, musical passion, and energy.
The fourteen-year-old was born in Lithuania. She moved to Ireland with her family when she was just a toddler and has lived there ever since. The young teen also comes from a musical family. Her mother is an accomplished pianist.
Music may be in her roots. We know it’s in her soul.
She would prove that by singing an astounding rendition of Lady Gaga’s ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ on the stage for the audience and judges of Ireland’s Got Talent 2019.
A stunning performance
The initially shy acting fourteen-year-old stood on the stage and clung to the microphone as the music began. Her anxious and excited mother watched from the side.
Then the song lyrics flowed and took over:
“Wish I could, I could’ve said goodbye
I would’ve said what I wanted to
Maybe even cried for you
If I knew it would be the last time
I would’ve broke my heart in two.”
The audience cheered and then fell silent as the song and performance continued.
As the singer was caught up in the music, she moved across the stage. It wasn’t just the clarity of her voice, but the power and emotion behind the words that surprised the audience as well as the judges.
For such a shy teenager, she ended up having an astounding stage presence.
The reaction
The result of that performance was a crowd that was on their feet applauding. There wasn’t a silent person in the room. Everyone had loved how she had made the song her own.
The spectacular performance earned the young singer Michelle Visage’s golden buzzer as well as her stunned praise. The golden buzzer pass meant she would be automatically moving on to the Ireland’s Got Talent live shows. That’s an honor all on its own.
The Ireland’s Got Talent judge who gave her the golden buzzer pass hugged the stunned young singer and told her as well as the audience,
“I know what it’s like to stand here and want to be a pop star. At fourteen years old, and singing your heart out. And not only did you sing your heart out better than I ever could on my best day, it was the from the heart, and you stood here, and you sang to this audience. She’s fourteen years old. The maturity! The Depth! That was amazing!”
Iveta was just about speechless she was in so much shock from the positive reaction to her singing. The modest singer couldn’t believe how much everyone had appreciated the stunning performance. It may have been her first taste of what fame is truly like.
It seemed like such a shock that it might take a while still for her to get accustomed to it!
Michelle wasn’t the only one to share her reaction with the singer. The other judges also praised Iveta. They said that they had loved the performance. They also noted that she genuinely deserved a recording deal and was on her way to a career in music.
