Dancing comes in many forms, each one unique, each one with personality, and each one carries a history to be treasured. Tap dancing is one of the most loved styles of dancing in which a dancer wears a special type of shoes.
These special shoes are fitted with heel and toe “taps”. These taps are responsible for the tapping sounds that it creates whenever the dancer strikes the floor or any hard surface to create a beautiful dance.
In Ireland, aside from their hospitality, the food, the beautiful places to visit, your tour won’t be complete if you won’t stop and see some of their best tap dancers.
Just like here in Galway, in the west of Ireland, in the middle of the shops street, there’s a very famous young lady that tourists and even locals come to see. Her name is Emma O’Sullivan and she’s famous for her talent in tap dancing.
According to her website, Emma is:
“An All-Ireland Champion, she has toured the globe with many of the top names in traditional Irish music. She is an experienced workshop facilitator and has spent over 10 years sharing this beautiful tradition.”
Aside from her tours, her tutorial videos, and her performances around the globe, Emma is also best known for her beautiful and lively street performances.
She also posts videos and most of them are going viral as well, just like this video from 2018.
This video starts as she was already dancing but suddenly, she comes to the person holding the camera and tells him if he sees the little girl where the camera man says, yes.
Emma then tap dances her way to the center of the street but closer to a little girl. The little girl is around 3 years old and is wearing a cute little pink sweater and red pants.
Unlike the other audience, this little girl wasn’t planning on standing still. She’s got rhythm and she’s focused on Emma’s footwork. This little girl was trying to imitate Emma’s dance steps.
The people around them were all smiling, all looking at the little girl who is very serious about her goal – to tap dance.
Not long after, the little girl gets the hang of it and is getting better at tap dancing; in fact, she’s doing very well for her age!
This little girl has potential and Emma knows it. She stares at the little girl and allows her to copy her moves.
You can clearly see the determination on the little girl’s eyes. She wanted to tap dance and she will do it! Soon, she’s already in the middle part of the street with Emma.
After they finished dancing, the people cheered and clapped for both Emma and their unexpected guest.
This video already has more than a million views and the comments poured in expressing their love for both Emma and the little girl.
It’s truly a precious video of a great tap dancer and a young child who may follow her steps in the future!
