Everyone can dance if they wanted to, but let’s face facts, not everyone is amazing at it. And that’s okay. Dancing should be enjoyed. It’s a fun outlet that’s even used for exercising and de-stressing. It’s also incorporated in school activities so you bet it has educational benefits, too. If you’ve noticed, the usual first instinct upon hearing a song with a catchy beat is to either sway along or bob their head to the music.

Dancing is literally and figuratively so moving.

Kids and grownups express their joy by dancing, hence the term “happy dance”. Nothing beats getting on your feet, shaking off the tension and the negative feelings, letting loose, and dancing it all away. But like we said (and this is just stating facts), not everyone is amazing at it. That’s why it takes exceptional talent to come up with choreography on the spot – in front of fellow dancers and an eager audience anticipating to see what the dancers can bring to the table.

At a dance event called Swingtacular by Dance Geek Productions, dancers are given the opportunity to learn more, meet fellow dancers, receive constructive criticism and pointers from expert dancers, and share their creativity and dancing expertise with the group and those watching.

The dance production aims to ‘provide an opportunity to current and aspiring competitors to hone their skills.’

However, it isn’t like an ordinary dance class where students show up at a studio, learn, and pack up. They’re given the chance to develop their strengths in dance and achieve overall improvement through a training ground with competition format called The Jack and Jill.

For a better understanding of how it works, check out the impressive way this duo got up and gave a performance to remember. Nick King and Victoria Henk were just among the dancers sitting in a row onstage when the host read their names off his cue card and called them as the first pair to dance. The two were just warming up and doing stretches when the music started playing which caused King to comically glance up and feign surprise.

Then he proceeded to lead and impressively enough, Victoria followed suit with her incredible moves.

From sitting with legs outstretched on the floor to beginning the dance by slowly getting up with undeniable style and attitude, the audience immediately loved them.

The rule was that each pair has to dance to a slow song and a fast one, and boy did these two DANCE. The slow song came first and they did not disappoint. Nick and Victoria didn’t look the least bit nervous or apprehensive at having to get up and improvise on the spot. They somehow managed to seamlessly mix their style and skills, making it quite a captivating number to watch.

From slowly gliding across the floor, swaying their hips in time with the beat, and doing the occasional twirls and dips, Nick and Victoria were more than pumped and ready to kill it with the fast song. As “1, 2, Step” by Ciara came on, the two dancers just knew they wanted to bring it.

What made it even more captivating was how the pair simply looked like they were having fun dancing.

There was no trace of tension or pressure, and the two even managed to throw in a myriad of facial expressions that highlighted their routine and enjoyment.

The fast song definitely triggered more from the duo! This time, they did more than just pull off flawless twirling, dipping, and hip swaying.

Incorporating edgier, sexier moves that amplified the feel of the song, Nick and Victoria definitely set the bar high.

It’s not everyday that instant dance chemistry is formed when two dancers are paired together for a swing improvisation. Luckily for us all, Nick and Victoria gave us an incredible performance to remember.

Watch as their fellow dancers looked on in awe, nodding approvingly and cheering them on. With the way the duo’s charisma and their routine screamed style and talent, we’re guessing they definitely broke the ice and inspired their fellow dancers (those present in the room with them and those watching from home) to remember what the essence of dancing really is: self-expression enveloped in individuality and creativity.
