Having a twin seems like a lot of fun. Apart from having a constant companion, you’ll have a partner-in-crime, best friend, and guardian angel. You’ll also have someone to share your dreams with.
Since Brittany and Briana Deane were young, they’ve fully immersed in twin subculture.
They used to go on double dates. They dress alike and they do things together. They are literally inseparable.
The twins dreamed of getting married to twins.
Briana shared:
“It’s really been a fairy tale come true. Marrying twins is something that’s very important to us.”
They considered it as a double fairy tale.
“We knew that the chances were incredibly scarce. The stars had to align for our dreams to come true. I get to marry the man of my dreams and at the same time I get to look over next to me and see my twin sister marrying the man of her dreams,” -she added.
Their dream came true when they got married to identical twins Josh and Jeremy Salyers.
The couples first met at a festival in Twinsburg. A couple of months later, proposals were made and they got married in a joint wedding ceremony.
As if that wasn’t enough, the twin sisters are sharing another milestone together.
They are pregnant at the same time!
The couples got creative in announcing that both women are expecting. Instead of having just a regular announcement, the couples decided to do a Baywatch-inspired poster.
The sisters wore red one-pieces. On them, the words “Baby Watch” were printed. The husbands wore matching red outfits and sporting the same poses.
The couples shared:
“We are so grateful to experience overlapping pregnancies and to be able to raise children of the same age together.”
Their announcement drew a lot of positive comments.
One of their followers said:
“Your story is a great uplifting story during these more serious times. Thanks for sharing! 💯👌🏽❤️”
Another one commented:
“Wow!!! Can you imagine if you both have twins ???? 😀”
Well, even if their children aren’t twins, they’ll still be special.
Apart from being cousins, they will also become genetic siblings and Quaternary multiples.
Well, all of their children will be genetic siblings. They’ll be sharing 50% of their genes with their sisters, brothers, and first cousins.
Dr. Alexandra Burt, a co-director of Michigan State University Twin Registry, shared:
“So, in the case of the Deanes and the Salyers, ‘genetically, the two women are indistinguishable from one another, as are the two men. That means that each child will share as many genes with their aunt as they will with their mother. The children are cousins “in real life” but, in terms of their DNA, they are siblings.”
It’s a unique story that even geneticists are left in awe.
Dr. Burt added:
“Identical twins are really magical. They’re clones of each other, created by nature, and you’ve got a case of two of these magical sets of human beings meeting and falling in love. If it didn’t happen in real life, you wouldn’t believe it could happen and you couldn’t write a better story than that.”
The couples are pretty excited about the overlapping pregnancies and they look forward to raising their kids together. They plan on living under the same roof.
