Dating apps offer a unique way for people to get to know each other and be together. They can jumpstart your love life or even set you up to meet the person you’re going to get married.
One man was lucky enough to find the love of his life on Tinder.
After being together for 3 years, they got married. They are now “happily married” for 14 months.
Then, his wife went away on a business trip.
He felt lonely on one particular night. So, he downloaded Tinder on his phone. Although he had really no ill intentions, he did it anyway. He swiped here and there and then felt bored.
A month later, his wife went on another business trip.
And just like last time, he found himself downloading the same app. He started swiping and having a good laugh.
To his surprise, his wife’s picture came up.
At first, he denied the idea. He thought that it was just probably a bot that stole his wife’s picture.
However, upon taking a closer look, he was sure it was her. He even saw a photo of her where he was cut off.
He felt confused.
Initially, his plan was just to delete the app and act like nothing happened. But then, he felt his curiosity kicked in and he swiped right.
They matched in an instant.
That meant that his wife had also swiped right on him. Therefore, she knew that he was using the app.
The man thought long and hard. He was planning on confronting his wife once she’s back from her business trip.
In the meantime, he took his dilemma to Reddit.
There, he got a lot of hilarious yet reasonable explanations.
One user pointed out that his wife mustn’t be more than 160 kilometers away like she said. For people to match on Tinder, they need to be closer to him because the app finds suitable pairs based on their geo-location.
Another user suggested that his wife must probably on Tinder because a friend informed her that he’s using the app during her first trip away. She probably downloaded the app to see if he’s cheating.
To ease the man’s mind, one user said that his wife probably wasn’t on Tinder to cheat. The fact that she swiped on his photo first meant that she was there for him and not for anyone else.
No matter what the man decides to think or do after seeing his wife on the dating app, one thing is for sure. He needs to explain to her why he was on Tinder in the first place.
