Appearances can be deceiving.
Itโs understandable that advertisers always want to put the best foot forward when it comes to whatever product or business they are representing. Still, there comes a point when that misrepresentation goes a little too far. In some cases, it can actually be pretty funny as well.
More specifically, when looking for a nice hotel to stay in, false advertising can cause some hilarious problems.
Here are 16 examples of some serious hotel fails.
1. This incredible WiFi password.
As we all know, WiFi is basically its own currency in todayโs society. On the one hand, we have to give this hotel some props for trying so hard to protect the integrity of the internet connection. On the other hand, this just might be overkill.
2. A Little Bit of a Reach
You know, we can only assume that this person who designed the layout of this bathroom had all the best intentions. But then again, you know what they say about assumptionsโฆ
3. A Warm Welcome
This is a definite red flag. Alsoโhow much does it really cost to buy three new letters and a bucket of new paint? Accidents happen but at least cover your tracks here, guys.
4. Unfortunate Design
Sometimes itโs not the hotel itself but the appliances and decorations. Nobody wants to have the bathroom trash flung all over them. Do better, people.
5. Basic Hotel Rules
While this is definitely good advice, the delivery could use a little work. We have some sympathy for this one, though. Translating is hard.

7. Spectacular Views!
This reminds us a little bit of when you need to go grocery shopping and you keep opening the fridge hoping some food will appear. Itโs sad, but we all do it.
8. Creative Use for a Toothbrush
We donโt know whose idea this was but itโs something you canโt really un-see. The basic rule here is that toilets and toothbrushes do not mix.
9. The Cinema Experience
We applaud the idea and the effort here, we really do. The execution could use a little more work though.
10. Optical Illusion Staircase
Ok, now this one is just cruel. Itโs already hard enough not to be a klutz in a new place, let alone when the stairs look like a hole into another dimension.

*We said nothing about water or being able to swim in it, though.
12. Plenty of Storage Space
Why not just nail or glue this into the wall? Why tease us like this?
13. Rest Assured, the Rooms Have Windows
Technically, theyโre not lying?
14. Pay for Parking
Man, parking tickets these days are really getting unreasonable if you ask usโฆ

This gym actually looks like it feels to workout.
16. Going Up
Elevators are notorious for freaking people out in old hotels. Chances are theyโre going to have some problems with this one.
