According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, there are more than half a million homeless people sleeping on the streets each night. It’s a major problem, and people can end up homeless for a huge range of reasons. Each of them has a story to tell, and they all suffer in different ways. The worst part of all is that so many homeless people could lead much happier and safer lives, if only someone would give them a chance.
A homeless man named Alex got his chance when a kindhearted man drove by in his high-end Lamborghini sports car and offered to give him a ride.
He filmed the whole thing, sharing the video on his YouTube channel, where it got half a million hits in a matter of days and has currently been viewed more than 2.5 million times.
The video inspired many, but it also generated a lot of hate, with many people saying that a guy who is rich enough to own a Lamborghini could have done more to help the homeless man.
Well, that’s exactly what he did!
Chris, the creator of the video, developed a plan to try and get Alex off the streets and into work.
He used the few hundred dollars he made from the video, as well as thousands of his own money, to plan out a total makeover for Alex in order to help him succeed at a job interview and hopefully turn his life around.
Chris laid out his $10,000 plan. First, he was going to get Alex washed and fed, and then take him to a barber’s for a brand new look.
Then, the pair planned to go shopping for a fancy suit and some fresh, clean clothes, and Chris even planned to use the leftover cash to buy Alex a used car to help him get to work each day.
It’s fair to say that Alex looked a little scruffy to start off. Naturally, living on the streets takes its toll on a person in many ways, and Alex’s hair and beard had been growing for a very long time without any care or attention.
But once he sat down in the barber’s chair, magic started to happen and a wonderful transformation began.
By the end of his makeover, Alex was a changed man. Then, in a brand new suit, he was ready for the big interview.
Look at the difference! Anyone who knew Alex before would have struggled to recognize him after such a drastic and dramatic change, but he looks so much smarter and super professional with his brand new suit.
He was a little nervous ahead of the interview, but did his best to get mentally prepared and even kept a locket of his old hair in his pocket as a good luck charm. So, did he get the job?
