It’s way, way too easy to take things for granted when you’ve got money. Coffee, clothes, and even haircuts are so easy to come by that we even decide we don’t want them on some days.
But there’s lots of people out there who’d be ecstatic to even get a little bit of those things. This man received a haircut after not getting one in ages, and I recommend you stick around and read more to see how it played out.
Meet Chan the barber. He runs a YouTube channel where he posts haircuts he gives. This one here is a haircut he gave to a homeless man named Don.
Haircuts are satisfying to watch, after all. Chan normally posts haircuts of all the everyday customers he gets, as well as tutorials and tips on styling men’s hair. That’s incredibly useful advice since a lot of young men aren’t quite sure on the nuances of style and self-presentation.
Though this haircut is special. Don hasn’t had a haircut in 6 years, and Chan is doing him the honor of giving him his first in ages.
He chats up Chan with small talk about his business. Don asks Chan how he grew his business and what other plans he might have.
To his credit, Chan’s barbershop is a pretty nice place. It’s a place for haircuts, but I wouldn’t mind taking a nap or enjoying the view from in there.
“This would be a good little place for a tour right here if you’re gonna put your sign out here.” said Don
They chat a little more. With each chat, their worlds connect together a little bit more.
This man lives a very different life from the one Chan has.
And though haircuts are mundane, they make for great conversation starters. We’ve all had barbers and stylists chatting with us when they work on our hair.
It’s what it means to be human – meeting other people and getting to know them.
Chan is giving him the haircut he deserves. A haircut can change a lot about your appearance, after all.
Don has COPD which makes working difficult. He now has people taking care of him. And if he ever needs a haircut, he can ask Chan.
The friendly chat continues. Don talks about things he loves – from pretty girls to classic cars. You know, guy talk.
And Chan keeps working on his hair until Don looks good enough for a job interview or a date.
Without the long, messy hair and beard, Don is actually a chill-looking guy. He looks like a completely different person.
“Dropped about 30 years off his appearance. Actually turned out to be a pretty nice looking guy once you could see him.” said one woman in the comments.
A change of hairstyle could be the start to a change in lifestyle.
In the meantime, Don looks classy with his new hairstyle thanks to Chan.
Chan says Don might have something he can do with a guitar. I’d love to see it.
