โIโm a survivor so far. Iโve survived a lot of things,โ Henry Flescher said. Flescher is a Holocaust survivor, and at 93-years-old, his near-death experiences werenโt over yet.

Flescher was driving his car on the roads of Aventura, Florida when he quickly found himself in a terrifying predicament. His car tires had become stuck on some train tracks; his car wouldnโt budge.
โI made the quick curve too fast, on the side there,โ said Flescher, โbecause itโs very dark there.โ
And in absolute horrific timing, a Florida East Coast freight train was barreling toward him on the tracks. It would hit his car in a matter of seconds.
โAnd then the train is coming, and I couldnโt get out,โ said Flescher.
Local resident Natalie Grant was watching the terrible situation unfold from her car just feet away. As Good Samaritans rushed to help Flescher, Grant took out her phone to start filming the chaotic ordeal. She couldnโt believe what she was watching.

โHonestly, it was insane,โ she said about the dramatic footage that she captured.
The people who came to Flescherโs rescue were able to pull him out from his car in the nick of time. The conductor of the train was blasting the horn as loud as possible, but there was no slowing down the train. It wasnโt but seconds later that the freight train smashed into his car like it was a childโs toy.
It was long after pulling Flescher from the car, that the sound of crunching metal and the loud train horn are all that anyone can hear.
โThe train just came and smashed right into the car,โ said Grant. โI saw the car literally slide right in front of my car.โ

Grant was still in complete awe of what she had just witnessed. Even though Flescher had found himself in a life or death situation, it was proof that people can find themselves at the wrong place, at the right time. This was exactly the case with the Good Samaritans that helped save the Holocaust survivorโs life.
โWhen you watch the video โ Iโve showed some of my friends, and when they watch the video, itโs just crazy to see the impact of how hard the train hit the car,โ said Grant. โI just thank God that he was able to be pulled out in time.โ
Flescher is the survivor of internments and multiple concentration camps during World War II. He couldnโt be more grateful to be alive. โIโm very active, thank God. Iโm doing things, and it pays back,โ he said.
