Ahh, high school. The time of our lives— or so they told us. For most us, high school was a time full of insecurity, social awkwardness, and at least a handful of terrible school pictures. As a somewhat unphotogenic person, I can honestly say that getting my photo taken for the school yearbook was always one of the most stressful parts of the school year. Without fail, I would always attempt some over-the-top, new hairstyle or makeup look. And without fail, it would never work out.
North Farmington High School in Michigan has finally caught on to the stress that school pictures can bring on to some students and, to reduce anxiety (and start a fun new tradition), the school has been allowing their students to dress up for their student ID pictures. Last year’s seniors took their dress-up game to the next level, ultimately going viral for their hilarious costume ideas. Whether it be memes, movie characters, classic cartoons, or politicians— these kids have got it covered. Here are few of our favorites.
Kevin from Home Alone is all grown up.
As Cher Horowitz from Clueless would say: “Ugh. As if!”
“There’s a snake in my boot!”
“It’s wing-GAR-dium-levi-oh-sah”
Nothing like some good ol’ fashioned brotherly love.
“How about a snack, Scoob?”
They even have a Jessie from Toy Story 2!
She absolutely nailed her expression.
This girl even managed to find Katy Perry’s exact glasses.
The time Friends went to Barabados.
Looks like the highschool Hermione has a friend!
Because everyone knows Tina is by far the best character from Bob’s Burgers.
Dora the Explorer made her way to Michigan.
This is a disturbingly accurate portrayal of that evil kid from Toy Story.
Jem from Jem and the Holograms, another classic cartoon.
Wait, are we sure this isn’t the same person?
When people are always asking why you don’t smile more.
This one is my personal favorite.
Can’t forget the Hansen classics, Oscar and Cookie!
“All you need is faith and trust, and a little bit of pixie dust!
“Quality is our recipe!” One a side note, this girl also looks a lot like Demi Lovato.
“When you think of trash, think of Akeem!”
Pretty sure this little girl was everyone’s favorite Matilda character.
School Matters— Steve Urkel.
What highschool would be complete without a young Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City (or the Carrie Diaries to be more exact)?
“I don’t want to be a laundress. I want to be FAMOUS.”
Jinkies! She makes a great Velma.
“Santie Clause, why? Why are you taking our Christmas tree?”
“Let’s make scholastics great again.”
