The police unleashed a home security footage that showed the exact moment that the attempted carjacking was done.

In the video, it can be seen that the car was unlocked and a man clad in all black went to the driver’s seat in an attempt to drive off with the car.

He did not know that the owner was only a few steps away.

The man saw what had happened and acted so quickly that the thief was caught off-guard.

The man dragged the carjacker from the vehicle and tackled him.

What the man did not know was that the thief is not alone.

Soon enough, three more men came running to beat the homeowner.

The gang fought the man and punched him in the face while trying to take the vehicle away.

Two of them were running to their escape vehicle, a black Mercedes.

The other two were still tackling the man when his wife’s voice was heard loudly saying she had called the cops.

Upon hearing the wife’s voice saying the cops were coming, the carjacker fled quickly.

The wife managed to scare the perpetrators away, and her husband’s car was left on their driveway.

He sustained minor injuries, but the car was not stolen, and the thieves did not succeed in their attempt to carjack.

The police say that the homeowner is lucky.

“Thank God that he wasn’t seriously hurt,” said Rocky Hill Police Sgt. Jeffrey Foss-Rugan. “We’re seeing a lot of these incidents throughout the state and the country that people are intervening, and the suspect may have a weapon.”

The thieves were allegedly roaming the neighborhood, looking for vehicles to steal.

That day, they saw the bright red Infinity with its doors unlocked and saw an opportunity to take it.

The homeowner had to fight off four men to ensure his vehicle was safe, and he was lucky that his wife was quick to call the cops and scare the carjackers off.

The brave homeowner was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The other people in the neighborhood are also afraid because of what happened.

The village is a relatively quiet community, and the residents are quite shocked that something like this would happen.

“The fact that it happened in daylight is the scariest part,” shared neighbor Debra Devanney. “You normally think something like that might happen at night but now they’re out and about in daylight.”
