There’s nothing like a good challenge, especially if dancing is involved. One police department from Hastings, Nebraska decided to let loose and show the internet their dance skills. And yes, they were challenged to do so!
It’s a hilarious video with over 3.7 million views and 23K “likes.”
Before cops were challenging each other to lip-sync battles, they were “duking it out” on the dance floor (not literally, of course). In both cases, the videos have been quite entertaining – with many internet users crowning their own favorite contenders.
The Hastings Police Department was challenged to a dance-off by the department in Grand Island.
Now, they could have easily said no. But what fun would that have been? One of the beauties of this challenge is that it allows officers to show that they’re just regular people too. Plus, they get to have a blast while doing so!
Challenge accepted.
A group of Hastings officers began practicing their dance moves together behind closed doors, ready to kick some butt. Once you see their final routine, you’ll probably wish to of been a fly on the wall!
The video performance is set to V.I.C.’s song “Wobble.” After the music begins, the cops start busting out moves like they’re at a dance club. But really, it’s in a comical “dad dancing” sort of way.
It’s impossible to keep a straight face watching this group.
The five officers shake it to the rap tune, each in their own little world. Frankly, it’s hard to know where to look – because each one of them is amusing to watch! You might end up with a favorite.
But in the background is another person that hilariously grabs your attention, a robber in a striped shirt. These officers are having so much fun they don’t even notice him… wink, wink.
The robber can’t resist getting in on the action.
He starts to dance behind the officers with his money bag in hand. How do we know it has money in it? There’s a huge dollar sign on the bag, of course.
Then, after the group breaks into a more synchronized routine, the robber starts making it rain. As for the cops – they just continue to “wobble!”
Wait, where’d he go?
At the one minute mark, the robber walks out of view. Luckily, he’s not trying to sneak off or anything like that. He instead does the moonwalk across the floor in front of the dancing officers.
They all stop, and the look on the female officer’s face is priceless.
Naturally, the cops chase the robber, but the video doesn’t end right there.
The internet has been cracking up over their performance. It’s funny, creative, and proves that even police officers can let their hair down sometimes. The dancing is pretty awesome too.
