Anthony Russell Amazing Start in The X Factor UK 2018 Finals

Every season of the X Factor UK finals brings a rush of excitement to those fans who have been following the eligible contestants throughout each of their performances. For many, it was Anthony Russell who created quite a stir during season 18.

An Astounding Performance

Anthony opened the finals with his rendition of Let It Be. A song that was written and performed by Beatles star Paul McCartney. Originally released in 1970. Based on audience feedback, Anthony’s performance wooed the crowd and the judges.

Tighto and His X Factor Attempts

Anthony is known as Tighto, and was given this nick name because of his passion for sweets that he was reluctant to share. In total, he has made three attempts to take the crown for the X Factor. This is a journey that began back in 2007. For Anthony, it was a rocky road as he struggled with some drug-related issues.

The X Factor Journey

Itt all began in 2007 with his first audition. Going the distance was not to be for Anthony as his addiction to drugs ruled his life. It wasn’t until 2017 that Anthony was ready to give the X Factor another go. Once again drugs interfered with a potentially bright future for Tighto following his appearance at the Judge’s Houses.

Perhaps the best thing to come out of this second attempt was the helping hand that Louis Tomlinson (X Factor Judge) extended to Anthony. After a four-month stay in rehab ( which Louis offered to pay for}, it appeared as though Anthony was finally on the right path.

Anthony was well prepared for his third attempt at X Factor for the 2018 season. He impressed the judges at his audition by singing Wake Me Up by Avicii. The power of Anthony’s performance could easily be seen on the face of Louis as he struggled to hold back tears. Anthony continued presenting stunning performances that put him in third place for the ITV Competition.

An Abrupt End

Anthony earned himself a spot in the XFactor 2019 Live Tour. This impressive singer was due to take the stage in Hull, but shortly before his much anticipated performance, he was cut from the program. He advised his fans it was for personal reasons. Which was true as the news reported that the star was battling drug problems once again.

He talked about how he loved being on tour but, he was still weak from previous stints with drugs and the nightlife while on tour caught up with him. He recognizes that he just wasn’t ready for the environment that was part of the tour.
