How about a Christmas “Hallelujah“?

Now, yes, there are a lot of renditions but Celtic Thunder’s unique take on entertainment may very well have you on the edge of your seat. The difference with this group is that they add a touch of theater, whereas other artists just get on with the song.

A viewer named John Stafford says,

“Beautiful music sung by The Celtic Thunder…Very soothing for those who are stressed…Listen to them, stressed or not!”

And he’s actually right.

Hallelujah” is typically not a Christmas song. But it does have its connections with the Bible and the divine. So it’s understandable why the audience broke into cheers and applause when the signature tune began to play.

These guys look great in their suits. No nonsense too, just men showing the world that they can sing with the best of them.

It’s not a solo nor a duet, but a trio. Think of it as sort of the trinity of their performances. And check out that stage! The band is amazing, the women are beautiful, and the background is sure to grab attention.

The blending is aural pleasure.

After a chorus, the three singers stop with their heads bowed down. The audience cheers but they’re not done! The band pauses a bit then launches once more as the men sing,

“Maybe there’s a God above
But all I’ve ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya…”

Impressed yet?

There’s no powerful shouting of notes here. Looking at the way they’re singing, it looks like there’s not much effort from the guys but the tempo and the octaves have grabbed the audiences attention.

It’s that Celtic touch that does it.

It was in 1984 when Leonard Cohen penned the song but he had no idea of the impact it would have. He had already reached a low point in his career but big names in the music scene soon began to take notice.

Celtic Thunder added their name to that list and they did not disappoint. Nothing flashy, just their signature style that has captivated their fans but it always works. Is it one of your favorite renditions now?
