Why certain things go viral online, I will never know. But today’s latest viral sensation involves a man, his lawn, and what is now being referred to as a “lawn pimple.”

And I have to admit… it’s pretty intriguing.

“After a downpour in Cambridge Springs, PA I found this odd Lawn Bubble in my backyard,” writes James Callendar in the caption of his YouTube video. “So strange but interesting.”

As it turns out, lawn bubbles aren’t that much of a rarity. They are caused when water gets trapped between your lawn and a tarp or some sort of membrane that was laid down underneath the lawn. When enough water accumulates it creates a bubble-like structure in the middle of your yard.

“I’ve never seen this before in all my life but apparently, it’s rained so much that it’s made a water bubble in the yard,” Callendar said in his video as he starts to stab the bubble with a sharp garden tool. “I hope it’s not going to turn into Noah’s Ark.”

His first few prods yields some water allowing it to slowly drain out.

“I’ll stand on it and make it come out more,” he tells the camera.

Callendar then hops on top of the bubble which moves around like a waterbed, but it doesn’t seem to help all that much.

“It’s not coming easy,” he says as he goes back to stabbing the watery mass. “I’m gonna poke a lot of holes.”

This guy just starts to tear up his lawn with his tool and eventually the bubble pops causing a rush of muddy water to stream out of the mass which starts to shrink.

“Kids… don’t try this at home,” he tells the camera.

For some reason watching this man pop this bubble in his lawn is oddly satisfying. I guess that’s why people on YouTube are calling it a “lawn pimple” because pimples can also be satisfying to pop. Gross… but satisfying nonetheless.

Apparently, more than 2 million others who watched the video on YouTube also find it satisfying.

“The satisfying poking sounds my ears are blessed,” said a commenter on YouTube.

There are actually lots of these lawn bubble popping videos on YouTube. Some say it was a shame to pop the bubble and that he should have kept it.

“I wanted you to keep it,” said one YouTuber. “It looks cool and fun to jump on.”
