Woman sits next to pair of feet on plane, and the Internet can’t handle it
The feet did more than just occupy the seat...

Let’s go on a little imagination voyage…

Let’s say you have spent all morning getting ready, rushing out the door, and trying to get to the airport on time. Then, after pushing through luggage and ticket checks, you’ve finally gotten to your plane seat, about to stretch out and relax, when suddenly you are greeted by two big, naked feet occupying the armrests beside you.

That’s exactly what happened to Twitter user Jessie Char on July 18th Jet Blue flight. The pink-haired consultant took to Twitter to chronicle the experience.

Jessie’s series of tweets begins with a rather innocuous photo of the empty seats beside her, posted at about 6:00 PM.

She writes, “My two favorite people to sit with on a plane”.

Alright, not so bad… yet.

A few hours later though, she comments on the photo, updating her followers with a tone of disbelief:

Most people assumed someone had simply sat beside her.

But then Jessie posts the following photo, writing, “Today, I flew on the set of a nightmare.”

Oh. My. God.

But, if that wasn’t bad enough, Jessie’s story wasn’t done yet.

Most people were completely horrified by the passenger’s actions.

Jessie’s photo has been retweeted over 6.5k times, catching the attention of both the New York Post and Anderson Cooper of CNN.

After the fact, she explained the situation to Anderson Cooper, saying:

“Shortly after takeoff, I noticed that one of the armrests kind of fell down. I thought it was a gravity situation but, when I looked over, I saw this serpentine set of toes willing out from the row behind me. “

Although most of the comments on Jessie’s photo focus on how gross and rude her fellow passenger’s behavior was, some people still don’t think covering feet during public travel is really necessary.

Frequent flyers debated the topic in a 2016 CN Traveler article. Jayna Maleria spoke frankly, saying:

“Not only do I take my shoes off as soon as I get on a plane, I spend the rest of the flight padding around in my socks like I’m in my living. Is it hygienic? Not really. But neither is the pillow I’m resting my head on or the tray table in front of me.”

Another flyer, Laura Redman, tells CN Traveler that she’s fine with socked feet, but quickly notes, “Not that I’m pro bare feet on planes. That’s just anarchy.”

So, what are your thoughts? Is it okay to go without socks and/or shoes during a flight?
