A wedding is more than just one great night — it is made up of several amazing layers. Assuming they are going all in, many people have the engagement party, the bachelor parties, the rehearsal dinner, etc. There are tons of events to look forward to when working up to the big day, and they each serve their purpose and come with specific traditions.
Now, if we were to take the traditional route, we would say it’s at the bachelorette party, when the bride-to-be gets a sensual dance from a couple of strange men.
That wasn’t the case for this bride though, who ended up getting a spectacular dance at her actual wedding. They weren’t strange men though, thank goodness — she actually knew these people as they were the groomsmen.
John and Monica had their wedding on June 18, 2016 which is also when the groomsmen surprised her with the epic dance. It wasn’t actually John’s idea though — the idea came from Paul, one of the fabulous groomsmen. When he proposed the idea, everyone obviously loved it.
So then they created this bombastic groomsmen entourage and the rest was history.
“Monica, the bride, and all of the bridesmaids were so shocked!” Zoetic Movement wrote in the video caption.
Zoetic Movement strives to encourage and nourish young dancers with their outlet, while also reinforcing family values. It was actually Char Peralta, an instructor at Zoetic, who choreographed this special dance for the groom and bride’s big day.
We have to say the choreography is pretty spectacular, too.
The dance starts out with all of the groomsmen bringing their chairs out into two straight lines. “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” by Beyoncé comes on which we have to say is a pretty fitting song for the occasion.
They utilize the chairs well — they prop their feet up on them, wiggle, and spin all around. Then when they are done with them, they drag them to the side in a neat formation and the next track comes on: “Treasure” by Bruno Mars. Another very fitting song choice!
At this point, the camera pans over to the bride and her guests who are in absolute awe. She is just sitting in her chair and beside herself, taking all of the epic dance moves in.
Then “SexyBack” by Justin Timberlake featuring Timbaland comes on and it is hilarious. You can hear the crowd all laugh together as the men lose themselves in the dance.
It’s freaky how good it is. You can tell that the guys are really enjoying themselves as if they had been waiting to put on this show all night. They probably did!
Later on, the men set up their chairs in a big, neat line going straight across the entire floor. They all sit down and then one by one, each person quickly gets up and bows on one knee to mimic a proposal to Monica. She is loving all of the deserved love and attention as she should!
The men continue to cycle through different songs like “My Humps” by Black Eyed Peas and “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell.
It goes on for 9 minutes — a long dance but totally worth it!
Towards the very end of the dance, John stands up in front of the group and approaches his wife. He kneels in front of her and begins to sing so passionately, Monica can’t help but smile from ear to ear. Imagine getting to marry the love of your life and then have them sing profess their love to you even more like this!
It totally makes our hearts melt. It never gets too sappy — it’s purely fun — yet it is so great to see a woman get all of the love and attention she deserves!
Their family and friends who are watching in the background are beside themselves too. When the camera flashes to their faces, they are all smiling and overcome with laughter. Can’t say we blame them! There must be some proud parents and aunts and uncles in there.
