There are plenty of dance videos from wedding receptions that have gone viral for good reason — but there are none like this one from a 2015 wedding that started out — well, with a bit of an interesting sketch.
The reception was set up beautifully and everyone was there to toast the new couple.
Then, of course, it was time to give some speeches. But as one groomsman started a speech, he was interrupted by yet another voice.
“I’m just gonna help myself,” he said, grabbing the microphone. “Michael, can I just say that you guys are such a perfect couple? And I kissed Michael, too! …the angle was always off. His kisses are tender.”
But he was about to get interrupted…by another groomsman.
“His kisses are like, amazing!” yelled the third groomsman. “They’re amazing! I wrote a little something. I hope you guys don’t mind.”
He cleared his throat as he took the microphone and began to sing a rendition of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, making the crowd laugh.
But that wasn’t even where it really got going.
“Guys, listen,” said the best man. “There’s only one way to solve this. DJ, drop that beat!”
And then, all bets were off. The group launched into a choreographed number that was part skit, part dance battle, and totally unique.
And there’s no denying that these guys can DANCE. Not everyone has a group of friends that can show off this kind of footwork, but without question, these guys can cut a rug.
Of course, as the dance went on, they were joined by several more groomsmen…and then eventually the groom himself.
At first, it might have seemed the groom didn’t know what he was getting himself into. But after a few minutes, he broke into a dance routine along with them that showed he’d been in on it the whole time.
The dance routine included a medley of songs, including Stand by Me by Ben E. King, Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo, Space Jam by Quad City DJs, and Everybody by the Backstreet Boys.
It was clear the men in the group were fans of the Backstreet Boys.
They were singing along as they danced, clearly having the time of their lives. As for the bride — as well as the guests — she couldn’t stop laughing. And people on the internet can’t believe their eyes.
“WOW Amazing!!” said one commenter. “This has made me so so happy for many reasons including the great dance, and the friendship which led these guys to do something so special on their friend’s wedding.”
By the way, if you’re impressed by the guys’ moves and wondering if they’re professional dancers, you’re on the right track — at least one of them is in show business.
The groomsman who proclaims that he kissed the groom is David Del Rio, an actor who has appeared in productions like Pitch Perfect and Grease: Live.
But for that day, he was just one of a bunch of groomsmen dancing for his friend. And dang if they don’t have moves.
