When couples dream of their wedding, they usually hope and pray things will go smoothly. After all, it’s one of the biggest events of their lives, one they’ll remember forever.

But as we know, there’s oftentimes something that goes wrong. With all the nerves and the millions of little details that go into the big day – it’s just to be expected.

Every so often though, a little hiccup at a wedding becomes the best part of all. Just ask everyone who attended the marriage ceremony in the video below.

Welcome to Andrew and Melissa Engstrom’s special day.

The beautiful couple was standing at the altar with the pastor and all of their guests looking on. It was time for the vows.

For some people, the repeating of vows is one of the most white-knuckling parts of the ceremony. What if your mind goes blank, what if you stumble on the words?

Let’s just say Andrew was a wee-bit nervous when it came to repeating his vows.

The pastor began in typical fashion asking Andrew to repeat after him. Right away Andrew had a hard time getting the ring on Melissa’s finger – causing the pastor to have to start again.

It was just the beginning.

The groom repeated the line:

‘I Andrew Paul Daniel Engstrom, do take Melissa Rene Warren…”

The pastor then guided Andrew to say, “to be my lawfully wedded wife.”

Well, that word “lawfully” can be quite a mouthful. Instead, Andrew said something more like this:

“To be my “waffle-y…”

The couple began laughing at Andrew’s mistake, as well as did the guests sitting in the church. The pastor, however, kept a straight face.

Andrew wasn’t done yet.

After his “waffle-y” blunder, he continued the vow saying, “and pancake-y…”

There are many brides out there who might have been mortified having their husband-to-be cracking jokes at the altar. Melissa wasn’t one of those people.

She began belly laughing at Andrew’s mistake, even making a hand gesture that she was eating pancakes. In fact, Melissa thought it was so funny that her legs were buckling.

Now, it’s likely that this wasn’t how the couple had planned the vow ceremony to go. Andrew then admits to everyone,

“I’ve been scared of this all my life.”

This line was like adding fuel to the fire. Melissa, the blushing bride, could not hold it together – and neither could anyone else for that matter.

Get ready, because she has the best…laugh…ever.

After trying to be patient waiting for everything to calm down, the pastor attempted to start again. However, it was like herding cats – and the couple just couldn’t keep their composure.

So he jokingly said instead:

“The court will now take a recess.”

Fortunately, the hilarious scene was captured by the Engstrom’s videographer, Larry McDonough. It quickly went viral and has been viewed more than nine million times.

The internet has loved every moment of the video. One person wrote:

“THIS is adorable!!! They will NOT have any problems having laughter & JOY in their home…”

Another commenter said:

“I have watched this dozens of times and can’t stop watching it! Such a funny but joyous wedding! Wish you both all the best!”
