When the most special day of your life is upon you, you can either keep it traditional or put a spin on things.
This groom decided to go for the latter on his wedding day.
At Bonnie and Dan’s wedding, the friends and family were in for a treat.
Today’s the day they were going to say their vows, but not before giving their guests one hell of a show first. The groom made sure to bring all his best mates along – because why wouldn’t he invite them?
It’s probably the most important day of his life and he needs everyone here. And they’re not going to let him down.
They’ve got a dance number planned for the groom’s entrance, with a song choice that’s not typical of weddings.
How about some Dr. Dre for this wedding?
Rather than solemn or fancy, this groom just wanted the music to be fun. So his entrance song of choice is none other than Still Dre by Dr. D himself.
There’s no mistaking that iconic piano note at the start.
Nothing says “my wedding day” quite like “Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg, am I right?
And don’t think that this groom doesn’t have the moves to back up his taste in music. You see that groove in his step the moment he walks in? He’s here to dance.
He doesn’t waste a second. A swag walk to start things off, and then a gesture to two groomsmen in the seats to back him up.
And they practiced that routine. There isn’t a stiff dancer in this cast. It helps knowing how to dance when you’ve got to be a gentleman, right?
Midway down the isle, two more guests from each family side get off their seats to be the second group of backup dancers.
Seems like this couple lucked out – both their families seem to like dancing.
And before you think this is the last pair of backup dancers here, you’d be wrong. A few more shuffling steps down the isle and two other men get up to join the lucky man.
People might break down in tears later, so they might as well break it down before the bride shows up.
Shuffling must run in both of these families, because that footwork is smooth. The groom and the last two guests do another tandem hip hop shuffle.
It’s not everyday you see someone moving that smoothly in a suit.
Oh, and massive props to the choreographer – whoever it was. They made this wedding a lot more fun than it would’ve been otherwise.
Not to say that a typical ceremony with a reception isn’t bad. We all still dig those. It’s just nice to spice things up sometimes, you know?
This groom has now boogied and shuffled his way to the end of the aisle, but that doesn’t mean the dance is over.
They’ve got to hype up the crowd first.
And now the men all line up and join the soon-to-be wed dancer near the altar. Of course, the round of applause is in order.
Can’t say this was a boring wedding!
