Chick Flicks have a habit of becoming classics, and even men (though they wonโt admit it) watch them soon memorizing the lines to heart. Not that thereโs anything wrong with that.

10 Things I Hate About You


Released in 1999, this film features Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles), a beautiful, smart and abrasive woman to her fellow teens, meaning that she really doesnโt attract the guys.
And unfortunately for her younger sister, Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), their house rules say that she canโt date until Kat has a boyfriend.
Strings are then pulled to set the sour sister up for a romance.
Kat crosses paths with new arrival Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) leaving viewers wondering if Kat will let her guard down and fall for the charming and handsome Patrick.
Legally Blonde
Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington III, and thatโs aside from having it all in life already.
But what stops Warner from proposing is that she is too blond.
So Elle uses all of her resources to get into Harvard, determined to win back Warner, only to find more twists and turns especially as she stands out in the prestigious school.


Mean Girls
Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) was schooled in Africa by her scientist parents, but when her family moves to Illinois, she finally gets to go to a public school.
The teenager soon gets a quick lesson on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity which divides students into tightly knit cliques.
She finds herself in an elite group called โthe Plastics,โ but Cady soon realizes why her new friends earned this nickname, eventually finding a frienemy in the groupโs leader, Regina George.


Clueless
She may be shallow, but rich and socially successful Cher (Alicia Silverstone) sits at the top of her Beverly Hills high schoolโs pecking scale.
Cher fancies herself a matchmaker, first coaxing two teachers into dating each other.
So emboldened by her success, she goes to hopelessly klutzy new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) and gives her a makeover.
Tai eventually becomes more popular, so Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd) was right about her all along, and she ends up falling for him.


The Princess Diaries
Shy San Francisco teenager Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) is clumsy and often bullied, but she soon learns the astonishing news that sheโs a real-life princess.
Shut up.
Mia is the heir apparent to the crown of a small European principality called Genovia.
She begins a comical journey toward the throne after meeting her strict and formidable grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi (Julie Andrews).
The Queen ends up giving Mia โprincess lessonsโ, but the teenager soon discovers more about herself in the process.


The Proposal
When sheโs faced with deportation to her native Canada, high-powered book editor Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) quickly says sheโs engaged to Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds), her assistant.
Andrew agrees to the act, but soon gives a few conditions of his own, including flying to Alaska so Tate can meet his eccentric family.
A suspicious immigration official lurking around means Margaret and Andrew has to stick to their wedding plan throughout the film.


Miss Congeniality
After a terrorist threatens to bomb the Miss United States pageant, the FBI rushes to find a female agent that can go as an undercover contestant.
Gracie (Sandra Bullock) is the only female agent who can โlook the partโ, and thatโs despite her complete lack of refinement and femininity.
She loves being โjust one of the boysโ and is horrified at the idea of becoming a girly girl, but she sticks to her job and foils the terrorist plot.


The Notebook
In 1940s South Carolina, mill worker Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) and rich girl Allie (Rachel McAdams) fall desperately in love but her parents donโt approve of the romance.
Noah goes to serve in World War II, and it seems to mark the end of their love affair, with Allie soon finding another man (James Marsden).
But when Noah returns years later on the cusp of Allieโs marriage, it becomes clear that their romance had never ended.


The Devil Wears Prada
Andy (Anne Hathaway) is a recent college graduate who lands a job at a prestigious Runway magazine.
She becomes the assistant to editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) who is in most ways pure evil.
Andy soon questions her ability to survive but she soon digs deep and finds herself matching the terrifying boss, even impressing Priestly in the process.


13 Going On 30
Sick of the social strictures of junior high, a teenager finds herself transformed into a grown up overnight.
Jenna (Christa B. Allen) wants a boyfriend, but unable to find one, she fantasizes about being an adult, eventually waking up as 30-year-old (Jennifer Garner).
But adulthood has its own set of male-female challenges, so it isnโt as easy as it looks for Jenna.


Sheโs the Man
Viola Johnson (Amanda Bynes) finds her scheme to pose as her twin brother, Sebastian, under threat as she plans to take his place at a new boarding school.
She falls in love with Duke, her handsome roommate, but he loves beautiful Olivia, who has fallen for Sebastian.
The problem is Violaโs twin returns from London ahead of schedule not knowing that she has already replaced him on campus.


Easy A
Olive (Emma Stone), a clean-cut teen, decides to tell a little lie about losing her virginity after her best friend insists that Olivia share details of her boring weekend.
But when the high-school busybody (Amanda Bynes) overhears their conversation, she spreads it all over campus so Olive becomes famous for all the wrong reasons.


The Holiday
A woman from America (Cameron Diaz) and one from Britain (Kate Winslet), decide to swap homes at Christmastime.
This was after both had bad breakups with their boyfriends.
They each find romance with a local man (Jude Law and Jack Black) but the imminent return to their homes may end those relationships.


Pitch Perfect
College student Beca (Anna Kendrick) doesnโt to be part of a clique, but thatโs where she finds herself in her new school.
She finds herself among mean, nice, and just plain weird girls, with the only thing they have in common being how theyโre able sing together.
She takes them out of their comfort zone of traditional arrangements, opening up a world of amazing harmonic combinations, soon finding themselves at the top of college music competitions.


A Walk to Remember
This tear-jerker is set in North Carolina, and it follows the rite of passage of a high school senior (Shane West).
He falls in love with a young woman (Mandy Moore), a woman he and his friends tease a lot.
A powerful and inspirational relationship blossoms where both discover truths that most people need a lifetime to learn.


Sweet Home Alabama
New York fashion designer Melanie (Reese Witherspoon) is engaged to the cityโs most eligible bachelor, but her past has many secrets, including Jake (Josh Lucas), her redneck husband she married in high school.
Jake refuses to divorce her.
Determined to end the relationship, Melanie goes back home to Alabama to confront her past.
She discovers that sheโs still very much a Southern girl at heart.


A Cinderella Story
Sam (Hilary Duff), a teenager in California, works as a janitor and dishwasher in her stepmotherโs (Jennifer Coolidge) diner.
A cell phone mix-up has Sam starting an anonymous text-messaging and e-mail relationship with a guy.
The two soon agree to meet at a school dance, but Sam finds out that her secret pen pal is Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray).
He is the cutest boy in school, so Sam panics and finds a way to make herself cooler.


27 Dresses
Forever the bridesmaid, Jane (Katherine Heigl) puts othersโ needs before her own, so she is the go-to gal when someone needs help with wedding plans.

Sixteen Candles
With her 16th birthday overshadowed by her sisterโs upcoming wedding, angst-ridden Samantha (Molly Ringwald) faces the day with the usual adolescent dread.
She pines for an older boy named Jake (Michael Schoeffling), but worries that her chastity will turnoff the popular senior.
All that while having to constantly rebuff the affections and advances of nerdy Ted (Anthony Michael Hall), the only boy in school who seems to take an interest in her.


Pride & Prejudice
This adaptation of Jane Austenโs beloved novel sees Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley) living with her parents and sisters in the English countryside.
Being the eldest meant facing mounting pressure from her mom and dad to marry.
The outspoken Elizabeth is introduced to Mr. Darcy (Matthew MacFadyen), a handsome and upper-class gentleman, and the sparks fly.
There is obvious chemistry between them, but Darcyโs reserved nature threatens their budding relationship, leaving viewers wondering how it would all play out in the end.
