Tetsuya is a retired chemistry teacher. He probably never imagined that he’d become an internet superstar, but at the time of writing, he’s got over 139,000 followers on Instagram.

The story all began when Tetsuya’s grandson, Kudo, visited him in his home of Akita Prefecture, Japan. The pair spent a week together, enjoying some quality family time and taking some photos.

When most grandparents and grandkids get together, they share stories or do something simple like watch TV, but Tetsuya and Kudo decided to try something different. They dressed Tetsuya up in some of Kudo’s outfits and did some of their very own fashion photoshoots.

These photos are the result of Tetsuya and Kudo’s hard work. Kudo is clearly quite a talented young photographer, but his grandpa is the star of the show, making these amazing outfits work in ways we never imagined.

Whether he’s wearing hard rock T-shirts or leather jackets, Tetsuya manages to look utterly fabulous in pretty much every outfit. He’s the most fashionable grandpa on the planet right now.

Kudo hadn’t seen his grandfather for quite a while until they reunited recently. He’s a big fashion fan and thought it would be fun to share that passion with his grandpa. Tetsuya really liked the idea too and came up with a bunch of good shooting locations for the pair to check out.

Tetsuya looks so classy soaking up those sunrays in the Land of the Rising Sun, wearing a green baseball cap backwards, some stylish shades, and a Burberry rainbow sweater.

Kudo says that all of the outfits seen in the photos are actually his old clothes. He brought a bunch of them home with him to share with his grandpa, and the results are simply stunning.

Tetsuya looks like a man with a plan in this classy trench coat. The sunset scene reflected in his sunglasses lends a mystical quality to the image.

Many grandparents and elderly people can often be spotted working in their yards and gardens at the weekends, but most of them don’t look as classy as this!

With his leather jacket and all-black outfit, Tetsuya looks like a rough and ready biker dude in this photo. The pretty flowers stand out in stark contrast to his dark ensemble.

Here’s the same outfit as the previous slide, only from the back. That jacket just looks even cooler from behind!

Tetsuya looks thoughtful and contemplative as he gazes out to sea, but our eyes are locked on his awesome outfit! That beaded necklace is the perfect accessory to go along with such a classy shirt.

Kudo says that Tetsuya is a ‘normal grandpa’ in terms of his usual fashion sense, but he totally transformed into a stylish and sophisticated supermodel with the help of his grandson!

Is it just us, or does Tetsuya look totally badass in this image? That hat, glasses, necklace, and suit combo is really working for him.

Not everyone agrees with wearing fur, but there’s no denying that Tetsuya makes it work for him in this photo. And just look at that tiger design!

It looks like it was a pretty frosty day when this photo was taken. Fortunately, with such a furry hat and thick coat, Tetsuya must be nice and warm.

Tetsuya has become known all over the world since these photos were shared on Instagram. He’s attracted followers from North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Funnily enough, he doesn’t actually use social media at all, and Kudo is the one running his Instagram account.

This is one of our favorite Tetsuya outfits. While some people start to feel like certain clothes are ‘off-limits’ as they get older, this funky grandpa is proving that age is just a number and you should always feel free to wear whatever you want.

Tetsuya looks positively dangerous in this image. He can make any color work for him, as we’ve seen already, but dark outfits seem to suit him especially well.

Just like his grandpa, Kudo has been amazed at all the online attention he received since starting up the Instagram account. He says he still has more photos to share and plans to keep the ‘Gram going for a little while longer. He also plans to make a special photo book to give to his grandpa as a gift.

Admit it. You wish your grandpa or grandma was as stylish as Tetsuya! Well, you know what to do: simply grab some of your old clothes and ask them if they want to do a photoshoot with you.

Here we can see Tetsuya posing beside his wife, Chizuko. She’s also 85, just like him. Together, they make one classy couple.

Wow! Even though darker tones work well on Tetsuya, here he’s showing us how good he can look in lighter colors as well. Those yellow shades are simply too cool to ignore and the whole outfit is just breathtaking.

With his stylish green cap shielding his eyes from the sun and that rainbow Burberry sweater hidden beneath a classy overcoat, Tetsuya looks ready to hit the catwalk, just as soon as he’s done mowing the lawn.

Even in simpler outfits, Tetsuya still stands out from the crowd. This feathered hat looks like it was made for him and a simple black tank top seems way more sophisticated and refined over his shoulders than it would on anyone else.

Another impressive aspect of Tetsuya is his naturally photogenic nature! Even though he isn’t really into fashion or photography, according to his grandson, he still poses with the confidence and charisma of an experienced model.

The sun was shining bright for this part of the grandson-grandpa photoshoot session. It helped to illuminate the bold blue shade of this stunning outfit, as well as drawing our attention to the classy green tie around Tetsuya’s neck.

We’re not exactly sure about Tetsuya’s musical taste. But when you see him all dressed up like this, he looks like he’d fit in perfectly with the crowd at any punk rock concert or death metal mosh pit.

Tetsuya wears sunglasses in most of the photos that have been uploaded to his Instagram account. This shot gives us a rare look at his eyes, gazing out into the sunset.

These photos have amazed and inspired people all over the world, and they also serve as a powerful reminder that you’re never too old to take pride in your appearance! Elderly folks can look amazing with the right outfits, and it’s never too late to get all dressed up.

Tetsuya really brings this camo jacket to life with a gorgeous red shirt and that familiar green cap we’ve seen a few times before. It’s an outfit that would fit perfectly in almost environment, from the streets of the big city to the nature trails of the Japanese wilderness.

That fiery look of confident determination in Tetsuya’s eyes seems to say so much. He’s a man ready for anything and dressed to impress with a colorful outfit and classy cap.

Sure, Tetsuya has a few wrinkles and white hair on his head, but in these young-looking outfits, he could easily be mistaken for a man half his age! It just goes to show how clothes can have such a drastic effect on how we’re perceived by the people around us.

Here we can see Tetsuya and Chizuko once more, basking in the glow of the sunset. That baggy coat looks amazing on Tetsuya and his wife seems to have fine fashion sense too.

These photos really make us stop and think about how fashion works. So many clothes are targeted towards younger people, but as Tetsuya proves, they can work just as well, if not better, on older individuals.

Every good outfit needs a good accessory or two to go along with it. Here, Tetsuya is showing off his jewelry game with those sweet shades and beaded necklace.

This is another one of our favorite snaps of Tetsuya! The way he’s gazing at that stone statue is simply priceless. And his outfit, once again, is totally on point.

This photo could easily appear on the cover of some major fashion magazine and it wouldn’t look out of place at all.

The pose in this photo is one of the best. Tetsuya looks like a tough old biker dude telling the kids to stop playing on his lawn.

Tetsuya’s fashion game knows no limits! Here, he’s wearing an oversized striped shirt with a pair of Hellraiser shorts. We’re sure that this outfit would look dumb on us, but it works so well on this old man.

The leather look really works wonders on this old-timer. Any biker gang would be lucky to have him as a member.

This is one photo that’s worth revisiting time and time again. Kudo did an amazing job of positioning his grandpa in just the right place to capture the sunset reflected in his sunglasses.

Tetsuya looks ready for a fishing trip in this outfit. And those bright blue waters look so inviting.

Even though Tetsuya isn’t a regular user of social media, he still seems to know his way around a computer. Here, Kudo captured his grandpa typing away on a laptop keyboard.

Japan is famous for its gorgeous cherry blossoms. They only appear for a brief time each year, but they draw in millions of visitors to the country. Even with cherry blossoms in the background, Tetsuya still steals the spotlight with his classy look.

Few people would think to mix purple trackpants with a long black jacket in this way, but once again, it’s a look that works, as proven by Tetsuya.

You’re already smokin’, Tetsuya! You don’t need cigarettes.

Seriously, someone should invite this guy to the New York Fashion Week or something. He would own that catwalk with his confident style.
