Everyone loves a good joke. And this one posted to Redditโs โWelcome to/r/Jokesโ page is a doozy. Anyone who has ever had a child or cared for one can sympathize with this and will probably find it absolutely hysterical.
Itโs about a grandfather and his struggle to go shopping with his cranky grandson.
If youโve ever taken a child to a store, youโll know that itโs basically just a minefield of temper tantrums that you have to avoid by telling the child that they canโt get every single thing that they see in the store.
According to this joke, a passerby saw a grandfather expertly handling his grandsonโs temper tantrum with the patience and compassion of a saint. But things turned out to not be what it seemed when the passerby decided to commend the grandfather for his efforts.
Just read the joke to the end and youโll see what we mean.

โItโs obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for sweets in the sweet aisle, biscuits in the biscuit aisle, and for fruit, cereal and pop in the other aisles. Meanwhile, granddad is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice,โEasy, William, we wonโt be long. Easy, boy.โ
Another outburst and she hears the grandfather calmly say, โItโs okay William, just a couple more minutes and weโll be out of here. Hang in there, boy.โ At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart and granddad says again in a very controlled voice, โWilliam, William, relax buddy, donโt get upset.
Weโll be home in five short minutes; stay cool, William.โ Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car. She said to the elderly gentleman, โItโs none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I donโt know how you did it.

That whole time, you kept your composure and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay. William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa.โ โThanks,โ said the grandfather, โbut Iโm William. The little bratโs name is Kevin.'โ
Haha! In a perfect world, child caretakers would react as if William was the child but no one is perfect all the time. We applaud William for not losing his head!
