However many hours of practice these boys put into this it was worth every second. I havenโ€™t laughed this hard in a long time.

During the school talent show, one group of 5th-grade boys had everyone rolling in their seats with a โ€œsynchronized swimmingโ€ act. Yet, donโ€™t expect thereโ€™s any water involved in this performanceโ€ฆ

If youโ€™re in need of your spirits lifted, this is sure to do the trick. The studentsโ€™ routine is both brilliant and hilarious, which is why itโ€™s no surprise itโ€™s been watched on YouTube more than 1.5 million times!

Many schools put on an annual talent show where students of all ages can show off their skills. It takes a lot of bravery to enter one of these shows, as they take place in front of parents, teachers, and whatโ€™s probably most intimidating โ€“ fellow classmates.

The eight friends in the video below decided theyโ€™d give their schoolโ€™s talent event a shot. And what better way to entertain everyone than with a little humor!

When it was their turn, everyone watched as the 5th-graders marched their way onto the stage wearing swimming caps, goggles, and beach towels. Standing in a line they all then tossed their towels off and revealed they were wearing bathing suits.

Wait a minute fellas โ€“ thereโ€™s no pool hereโ€ฆ

Actually, there really was some โ€œwaterโ€ on stage. A blue plastic sheet was hung up front and center, which the group of students went and disappeared behind.

Let the show begin!

With Johann Straussโ€™ famous waltz โ€œThe Blue Danubeโ€ in the background, the boys jumped into their synchronized swimming act. It began with them all โ€œdivingโ€ into the pool causing an uproar of laughter.

As we know, synchronized swimmers have very graceful moves that take crowdsโ€™ breath away. The kids mirrored these types of moves, but when you have fake water (and theyโ€™re not really athletes) it creates a hilarious twist.

Thereโ€™s even a highlight in the performance when all the boys duck behind the water. Suddenly all their legs pop out and the students move their legs and wiggle their feet.

You may have seen an act similar to this one online. Who can forget when the retired seniors had everyone cracking up with their synchronized routine?

According to one of the studentโ€™s moms, they too had seen these hilarious videos floating around the internet. She explained:

โ€œWe saw some similar videos on youtube and decided to take some of the moves we liked, then arranged them and added some new moves to make it the best for our 8 boys โ€ฆ We are proud of our boys for displaying courage, humor, and personality up on the stage!โ€

From beginning to end, the youngstersโ€™ performance is clever, funny, and very well-done. They must have put a lot of time into practicing their moves โ€“ maybe next time theyโ€™ll head out to the real pool?

The routine has certainly won over the internet. However, another one of the boyโ€™s moms, Jennifer Mallory, pointed out that their talent show didnโ€™t have an actual โ€œwinner.โ€

She wrote on YouTube:

โ€œAs the mother of one of the boys, I can tell you there were no โ€œwinnersโ€ at our school talent show. It was a show that was just for fun! Lots of precious kids with lots of talent! Our boys just decided to do something a little different and have a lot of fun in the process! Thanks for all your sweet comments! Glad it is making people laugh!!โ€
