The Today Show picked two lucky mothers who got yanked from the audience to get the makeovers of a lifetime, in their “Ambush Makeover” edition. Both moms are completely transformed from regular housewives to smoking-hot mamas, leaving their husbands’ stunned and daughters in tears.
One of the daughters cries tears of joy before the ‘mom-over’ even happens!
World renown stylists, Louis Licari and Jill Martin pick two lucky ladies for this ambush makeover on the Today Show.
Louis and Jill go through the crowd selecting two willing participants. The ladies they pick are both pretty, but they have put their own look to the wayside in order to devote their time to their families.
For the first glamorous transformation, the style experts pick 56-year-old Janet Carr, from Michigan.
She was a flight attendant for 26 years, before retiring into full=time ‘mom-aging’. She’s a mother of 3 beautiful daughters, two of who accompanied her in the Today Show audience.
Janet stood in the crowd with her husband and two daughters, they made catchy signs that got the attention of the stylists. One of the daughters even sung for Jill Martin and the Today Show.
“Help Wanted Please Ambush Me,” read one of the signs. Another said: “Shut Up & Ambush Me.”
The second breathtaking makeover is done on 42-year-old, Kathy Birk, from Greenwood, South Carolina.
The elementary school teachers assistant, traveled all the way to, New York, to stand in the crowd at the Today Show with hopes of getting ambushed. Kathy’s husband and 3 children made the journey with her and were ecstatic when she was selected.
During the pre-makeover interview, her oldest daughter has tears of joy pouring down her face as they choose her mother. Kathy describes her makeup routine, but her daughter quickly disagrees saying she doesn’t really have one.
“I’m just overwhelmed, speechless. I can’t wait, I’m very excited.” Said Kathy.

When Janet walks out, her family is beyond surprised and can’t contain their excitement. Her daughters tear up, while it looks like her husband has seen a ghost. By the look on his face, I think he’s falling head over heels for his wife all over again. There is a new sense of confidence in Janet, the experts couldn’t have done better.
When it’s time to reveal the second ‘mom-over,’ Kathy comes strolling out looking like a whole new woman.
Kathy’s 16-year-old daughter immediately starts crying more tears of joy, she screams “oh my god” as her mother walks out. Kathy’s husband is speechless, he gazes at his wife mesmerized by the lady in front of him. She’s more shocked than anyone, staring at her self in the mirror with a huge smile.
“Oh my gosh, oh my word, my goodness I don’t even look like the same person,” Kathy says with her deep southern draw.
