It’s easy to forget that YouTube is a worldwide space for users to create and upload their own videos. You can be watching in the U.S. a video that was made in another country and vice versa. The only real challenge this creates is a language barrier for those of us that aren’t bilingual.
However, there are some things that are universal. Cat videos are one example. Another example is heartwarming videos. Lucky for us, these two dancing kiddos will melt your heart no matter what language you speak.
The two little kiddos, dressed in sailor suits stand opposite each other waiting for their cue.
The Russian song starts to play and the kids begin their routine. Based on the comments and the title of the video (which translates to “you are a sailor I’m a sailor”), it clearly takes place in Russia. Not to mention the emblem hanging on the background of the stage.
The music starts to play and they walk towards each other.
How it’s going to go we’re not quite sure. A lot of times kids’ duets can go seamlessly and surprisingly well. Both kids are perfectly well-practiced with their moves set in sync.
Then again it could go the opposite. Neither of them knowing what to do and fumbling around the stage looking for their instructor to tell them what to do.
This performance is a nice mix of both.
The moves are simple, and the kids (or at least the little girl) know what they need to do. She knows what to do so well that she makes sure to correct her dance partner when he makes a mistake.
Grabbing him by the shoulders, she points him in the right direction after he freezes.
All guys need a little guidance every once in a while, right? Dancing is tough to learn and it’s hard to remember all the moves sometimes- he’s lucky to have his dance partner.
The two go on with the routine, not quite hitting all the moves. Not quite nailing all the steps, they’re dedicated and the show must go on. About halfway through the routine, it gets pretty clear that the little boy’s heart just isn’t in it.
The routine continues, but the little girl is not quite finished correcting her dance partner’s moves. He continues to struggle a little bit, but more from lack of interest than lack of skill.
They expand their moves to a couple of twirls and spins, making everyone in the audience ooh and aw at the cuteness of the sailors.
Whether you’re watching at the recital or from behind a screen, you have to admit these kids are cute. The comments may all be in Russian, but it’s pretty clear by the number of views, likes, and comments that everyone thinks these kids are cute, despite their on and off skills.
Whether you want to chalk this up as a fail video, or a heartwarming moment between two little dancers, it’s an adorable video. The little girl is clearly going to grow up to become a dance teacher.
