No, really. This girl’s talent is for things to come in a bit later than she intends to.

Gracie Scullion, hailing from Carnegie, Pennsylvania, starts the video with an ecstatic introduction of what you are about to witness. She gave out clues that it’s “cool” and that she was doing it “way too often.”

We all know that everyone’s getting pretty excited at this point but before she could go on to details, she stops herself so we could all find out her hidden talent by ourselves instead.

She says seemingly ordinary words like “Hi!” or “Oh” or “Okay”, but something is off.

Or much more specifically, something is off cue.

Her mouth is definitely forming the words, especially if your hidden talent is lip-reading, but the voice seems to be caught by some kind of glitch that delays the sound. Like someone else was saying it after she does.

It may not be breathing fire, or turning into a mouse, or finishing your tax returns in under an hour and without mistakes, but it’s really gonna let you question your senses.

And apparently, it is not only us who are pretty surprised.

Gracie shared that she may have done this with some of her friends, even acting out their reactions to the “disembodied” voices.

People can easily dismiss it as some quirky video edit or some kind of poorly timed dub, but actually, it can be a form of ventriloquism.

Ventriloquism is the art of “throwing” your voice in such a way that the sound will come from another source than the speaker.

You can voice the sound while also manipulating your lips as if you are not talking, or somebody else is.

Jeff Dunham is one of the most well-known puppet ventriloquists, garnering legions of fans through his characters Peanut, Walter, and Achmed. But unlike the professional comedian who started ventriloquism at the young age of 8, Gracie just started “delaying” her voice quite recently.

Her followers were so dumbfounded that they even asked her to make a tutorial.

A great magician never reveals their tricks but Gracie was gracious enough to not believe in that no-fun proverb.

She said, the key was:

“Find words that don’t your lips touch, like ‘Hi’ and ‘Hey’.”

At the course of the tutorial, she pointed out that it’s not a voice-over or some new filter from TikTok. She even showed that her throat was really tensing with the speech, adding credibility to her powers.

“To do it, I try to over exaggerate ‘mouthing’ the first word, but I won’t add my voice until my mouth is completely still and closed.”

But with great powers come great responsibilities to the truth. Gracie admitted that she’s not really a ventriloquist, just a young girl with some crazy quirks and a hidden talent.
