At age 5, kids start exploring more in terms of hobbies and interests. The curiosity is heightened because they’re able to do more. No longer toddling about unsteadily, five-year-olds have an eagerness for learning and discovering: nature, art, music, sports, etc. That’s why at such an early age, they can already understand certain concepts like practicing, performing, and competing.
It makes them more confident, too!
Just like this incredible little girl who wowed the audience with her lyrical solo.

With incredible stage presence and an impressive dance routine, Jessica Sutton is a star in the making.
Showing no signs of hesitation or nervousness, she danced like a pro to a Mariah Carey classic, “Hero.”
She kept her toes pointed with each step, and her arms and legs stretched out elegantly. The song complemented her dancing perfectly, and it seemed the talented performer also made the song more meaningful than it already was. Despite the slow tempo, the song came alive through each graceful move. She glided, walked, and jumped across the stage delicately.
Choreographed by Avianna Sanchez, the dance number was done so impressively by a talented little girl who confidently leapt and bound across the stage without missing a beat. Each slow turn and gradual leg raise showed just how much work she put into mastering the routine.
From a perfectly arched back to a flawless turnout, Jessica kept in time with the music beautifully.
It wasn’t just how wonderfully the little girl danced. It was her ability to get up and perform in front of an audience with no trace of stage fright on her face. In fact, her calm, relaxed demeanor was pretty telling of the kind of performer she is: a complete natural.
That’s why it comes as no surprise that the tiny dancer bagged first place in the Mini Lyrical Solo category.
Five-year-olds may be curious and eager but they are also quite disciplined and determined. That’s why they’re not to be underestimated – age and size have nothing at all to do with talent and capability. Imagine how many hours it took Jessica to master the choreography and give a stellar performance in front of a large audience.
Looking every bit the natural, Jessica flawlessly executed each step, maintaining composure the entire time. How many kids can exude the same poise and confidence Jessica did as she took to the stage and danced?
