Traveling can cause stress and anxiety.
Especially for first timers. So whatโs the best way to calm those nerves? Laughter. And some flight attendants are giving their passengers a good dose of it! It helps!
One Southwest plane was treated to a comedy show prior to flying to their destination. Hats off to their creativity!

This is a pre-takeoff safety speech that took place on a flight to Islip, New York โ and it had everyone cracking up.
The video begins with a Southwest flight attendant named Robert introducing the crew, but then he gets right down to business. Now if youโve flown, you know this part is important. So pay attention.

Ready for a seatbelt demonstration spiced up with dry-humor? He tells the passengers:
โโฆin the event you have not been in an automobile since 1942, weโre going to show you how to fasten a seatbelt, watch closely. Do this.โ
Robert then kicks it up a notch by explaining they need to have their seatbelts โlow and tightโ across their hips โ similar to the hot pink Speedo heโll be wearing later that nightโฆ

The flight attendant gives instructions on the life vest, all in the โunlikely eventโ the captain turns their flight into a cruise. He reminds them that itโs not a toilet seat cover, and if theyโre looking for the crew in the water โ theyโll be the ones โtoting that liquor kit.โ
While Robertโs giving his speech the other flight attendant acts as the demonstrator.
Itโs a wonder heโs able to keep his composure!

You shouldnโt smoke on a plane, but these passengers got a comical reminder.
If they have a cigarette during the flight โ there are two โentertainment loungesโ on the plane, one on the left wing and the other on the right. But while theyโre trying to smoke, everyone else will be watching Gone with the Wind and Bye Bye Birdie.
He says:
โVery simple, very easy, donโt be naughty in the potties and leave the webcam alone in thereโฆโ

Thereโs so much more to this funny safety speech, but just wait until you hear what he has to say about the oxygen masks!

According to Yahoo! News, Robertโs been a flight attendant for Southwest since 2005 โ and unsurprisingly, these arenโt the only passengers heโs made laugh. In the video, he ends his instructions with a song set to the classic Barney tune:
โWe love you. You love us. Weโre much faster than the bus. We hope you enjoy our hospitality, marry one of us and youโd fly free.โ

Thanks to one traveler, everybody online got to see and hear this creative take on pre-flight checks.
In the videoโs description it says:
โI was coming back home on a Southwest flight when I discovered I had one of the funniest flight attendants on board with me. It was one of the best flights I have ever been on!โ

While not all of us will have the chance to be on one of Robertโs flights โ Southwest is known for having warm and friendly crews. On their Facebook page they share that they offer:
โโฆLow Fares, Customer Service, free pretzels and soft drinks, Funny Flight Attendants, and FUN.โ
Sounds good to me! Can you imagine what their holiday parties are like?
