Arguably one of the funniest shows on tv is Comedy Central Roast. Today’s greatest comedians tell jokes at the expense of some of the world’s most famous people. In recent years comedians have roasted celebrities like Alec Baldwin, Bruce Willis and Justin Bieber.
In this hilarious Youtube video, the groom, Tim, sits down to hear his best man give a toast, but he has no idea he was in for a roast.
The best roasts often come from comedians who know the target personally, and who better to know the groom than his very own brother.
The groom looks like he’s having second thoughts whether he made the right decision to have his little brother as his Best Man.
“I was a bit surprised that he chose me as his best man, I don’t think he realized that I get the chance to stand up here and say whatever I wanted about him, in front of all his friends and family. The moment I’ve been looking forward to for years.”
A comedian always knows if his jokes are landing by how the audience responds.
Comedy legend, Steve Martin told NPR, “The moment you say the punch line, the audience either laughs sincerely… or they don’t laugh.” There’s no exception here, when this tight knit group of family and friends erupt into gut busting laughter.
One of the biggest laughs ensues when the Best Man riffs on the differences he and his brother have.
“We had very different personalities. You know Tim was always loud and abrasive and obnoxious and foolish. While I was always calm, and self controlled and good looking.”
Rolling Stone magazine ranked the Comedy Central Roasts of Charlie Sheen and Hugh Hefner as the all time greatest.
The magazine states, “Roasts succeed when a willing target with thick skin has skeletons that refuse to languish in the closet.” This groom must have the skin of a crocodile and the bride sure wishes the closet was locked shut and boarded up.
Growing up together, the brothers had their fair share of scrabbles. The Best Man created a poem to highlight some of their greatest fights, and the revenge for his past bruises is pure poetic justice.
“Once when Tim was being arrogant and haughty, I asked, ‘What’s it like being a woman trapped in a man’s body?'”
The popular website Art of Manliness offers some practical advice on giving a Best Man’s Speech. Our Best Man hits most of their notes, like, “Tell a story and make a connnection” and “Prepare.” But when it comes to the hot tip “Avoid Controversial Topics,” our Best Man turned a blind eye.
At one point the Best Man wonders if he’s gone too far, saying, “My mom is gonna hate me for this.”
After the groom is thoroughly tenderized, his brother goes for the heart strings and praises his brother’s kindness and service in the Marine Corp. A moment of heartfelt brotherly love.
“I just want to let you know, in front of everyone, how proud I am of all that you accomplished in the Marines. You’ve had to overcome a lot to get where you are… I’m incredibly honored to say that I am your brother.”
According to The Knot, some of the current trends for wedding reception entrees are filet mignon, fried chicken, or grilled chicken and cherry tomato skewers.
It looks like everyone at the reception witnessed the groom get filleted, fried, grilled and skewered even before the meal was served.
