Forever 21 in hot water for putting Atkins diet bars in plus size orders
"I went from a size 24 to 18, still a plus size girl, so I ordered jeans from @Forever21 Opened the package, when I looked inside I see this Atkins bar. What are you trying to Tell me Forever 21, I’m FAT, LOSE WEIGHT? do you give these to NON-PLUS SIZE WOMEN as well?"

The new workout craze has taken over and it seems to be that some people care about their appearance more than other people’s feelings. Dieting is popular, both healthy and unhealthy methods are buzzing all over social media.

I am all for self-confidence and if dieting is what helps someone with that, the more power to them. What I don’t like, is pushing ideals on someone who may be perfectly fine with the way they are. Heres how one of the most popular clothing companies out there, took it way too far!

Women from all around recently started taking to social media to express their displeasure with Forever 21. After ordering plus size clothes from the popular clothing company, they came to find, somewhat of a message inside the packages. Consumers like Samantha Puc took to twitter to express their concern.

“Apparently @Forever21 sends out Atkins bars with all of its orders, which sends a wildly dangerous message to ALL of its customers. Not only is it fat-shaming, it could also trigger people of all sizes who have EDs. This is as dangerous as it is inappropriate.”

Well said, Samantha!

The question is what kind of message does this send to Forever 21 Consumers? Is it not ok to be plus-size?

You would think in the world we live in today, people would be able to accept everyone for exactly who they are. If we have big corporate companies sending messages of intolerance or “fat shaming” it could set a precedent that is not ok. This is a very scary thing.!@MissGirlGames went viral after posting:

That’s a great question Forever 21, do you put these diet bars in non-plus size orders?

The problem is no-one should be pushing dieting on anyone else, weight is already a hard enough subject without any unwanted input.

Weight is a battle that a lot of people are facing and struggling with. These diet bars not only don’t work, but they are unhealthy as well. We need companies who are going to promote good health, happiness and being comfortable in your skin. Not companies who go out of their way to make their loyal customers feel bad.

When asked about the diet bars Forever 21 issued a statement, but the damage may already be done.

“From time to time, Forever 21 surprises our customers with free test products from third parties in their e-commerce orders. The freebie items in question were included in all online orders, across all sizes and categories, for a limited time and have since been removed. This was an oversight on our part and we sincerely apologize for any offense this may have caused to our customers, as this was not our intention in any way.”
