For teenagers, prom is a very special event.

It’s a dance party for students in high school. For boys, it may be offered in a semi-formal black-tie or informal suit, and for girls, it may be offered in evening gowns.

Some may say that teen girls look forward to attending prom the most.

In this story, you’ll meet a teen who had no prom date but was surprised by a gentleman.

She was asked one of the sweetest questions she had ever heard.

Maddie Thompson Morley of Folsom High School (FHS) in California had always wanted to attend prom.

Unfortunately, many special needs students don’t attend their high school prom.

Even so, dreams do come true.

Fortunately, “Evening of Dreams (EOD)” organizes an event dedicated to these incredible special needs guests.

They are making disabled teenagers and young adults feel like royalty.

According to their website, EOD is a special needs prom that began in 2010 at Capital Christian Center in Sacramento, California.

They mentioned that,

“Evening of Dreams celebrates the night with a red carpet affair, along with dates who are local students, hair styling, make-up, photographers, dinner and dancing. Each year, our goal is to create a night to remember for both our Guest and all our volunteers.”

Kooper Richardson, a football player, was determined to make Maddie’s dream a reality.

The 16-year-old student was caught off guard during a school assembly when an announcement came over the speakers.

“Maddie Thompson Morley would you please come up here?”

“Someone has a very important question to ask you.”

Everyone was there to witness the surprise “prom-posal” at FHS.

Kooper appeared from behind the curtain and asked,

“Would you go to Evening of Dreams with me?

The answer is a resounding YES!

“I would like to,” Maddie replied cheerfully.

She received a bouquet as well as a hug from Kooper.

And, of course, the crowd was taking photos of them. The audience was ecstatic for Maddie and cheered her on.

One of the best parts was that Maddie’s mother was present, which was a surprise too.

Folsom TV interviewed her mom, who shared,

“Going to prom. Going to a dance like this has been something she’s wanted to do since she was a little girl. And we never thought it would necessarily happen because there really isn’t historically a way for special-needs students to be included in a prom.”

“This Evening of Dreams is just magic,” she added.

You’ll be very impressed by this young man.

Kooper even gave up something. This was revealed during an interview with his mother, Kelly Richardson.

“When Folsom High decided to do their senior trip to Disneyland, we found out that it was the exact same date as Evening of Dreams. So I went to Koop and I said, “I just found out that they’re on the same day. What do you want to do?”

Without hesitation, the teen replied, “I want to go to Evening of Dreams.”

“You can go to Disneyland anytime. This is a once in a lifetime experience and I will not miss it,” Kooper explained.

Maddie and Kooper had a fun, special evening full of surprises.

When it comes to announcing the night’s queen, guess what?
