As you know, certain items are flying off grocery store shelves. In particular, everyone is having a hard time finding toilet paper. As quickly as its stocked, the shelves are once again empty. But during these trying times, we’ve seen some pretty miraculous things happen.

For a lot of people, sharing jokes or doing some kind of silly prank involving toilet paper helps ease their stress. One florist decided to get in on the fun. So, he started to create bouquets using…what else…toilet paper. But what started out as nothing more than a funny way to deal with the pandemic turned into a high demand product.

Turning lemons into lemonade

At first, David Faulkner of Blossom Events and Florist thought it would be cool to make bouquets using toilet paper. Like a lot of people, he was simply trying to find a way to make the shortage of this commodity something light-hearted. So, as a joke, he posted one of the bouquets on Facebook.

It resembles flowers

David is so good at his craft that when done, the TP bouquets strongly resembled a dozen roses, except in white, of course. They even use different colored bows and live greenery aa accents. He found a way to take an ordinary product and turn it into something beautiful. Although he did it as a way to lift the spirits of his community, people quickly noticed.

No longer a gag

Almost immediately, David’s toilet paper bouquets were in high demand. Customers were calling from near and far, eager to get their hands on one. Even though they cost $75, people didn’t care. For a few, it was about having a novelty item associated with the virus outbreak. But for others, it gave them a way to get hold of what they needed most…TP.

A perfect gift

A large number of the orders came from customers buying for someone else. David was sending toilet paper bouquets to mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and grandparents. His business partner, Bart Faulkner, had this to say, “It is going to affect our business one way or another, so we’re just trying to, right now, do like everybody and make the best of it.”

It’s a win-win solution

Not only is Blossom Events and Florist putting smiles on people’s faces and getting a product out to them that they need, but it’s also saving their company. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 virus has already shut down a lot of smaller businesses. With this bouquet, the Faulkner’s are busier than ever. That means they don’t have to lay off any employees.

We’re all in this together

The outpouring of interest in these toilet paper bouquets is just one example of how people are coming together. Today, strangers are stepping up to do whatever they can, individuals are shopping for their elderly neighbors, and volunteers are feeding truckers as they work long hours to help restock stores.

For now, the beautiful toilet paper bouquets are helping. But it’s important to remember that once life returns to normal, all of us still need to support small businesses. We have a feeling that when TP becomes available, this creative team will come up with something else that customers love. They certainly have the ingenuity and drive to succeed no matter what comes their way.
