Everyone loves music, and the way music can influence emotions to any extent. With every genre of music, there is always appreciation for each one. In this video, we see legend Andrea Bocelli and German superstar Helene Fischer perform the classic “When I Fall in Love” beautifully.
Where did this classic tune come from, and who are the people performing it in this video?
The song “When I Fall in Love” was written by Victor Young and Edward Heyman in 1952. Over the years, many famous, talented artists have covered the song, ranging from Doris Day, Etta James, Rick Astley and, Celine Dion. Nat King Cole and his daughter’s duet on this song in 1956 is probably what shot the song to it’s known fame today.
Andrea Bocelli is a world-famous opera singer, who is unbelievably talented. He was diagnosed with glaucoma at five months old and at the age of twelve, went completely blind. His parents encouraged him to explore music, and he found out he was extremely musically talented and is the famous opera singer we know today.
Helene Fischer is a superstar in her home country of Germany, as she is a singer, dancer, entertainer, and actress. She is exceptionally talented and an impressive woman all around, no wonder Germany can’t get enough of her!
The performance starts with an introduction from David Foster.
The performance took place at the Music for Hope event, and David Foster tells Andrea Bocelli that he is about to perform with German superstar, Helene Fischer. He also brings out Chris Botti to play the trumpet for the incredible duo and the song.
Helene Fischer joins Andrea Bocelli on stage, and Chris Botti begins the song with a beautiful trumpet solo. The rest of the music comes into place, and Andrea Bocelli begins the song “When I Fall in Love.” You can tell by the way he performs he feels the music in his soul.
The duo are a match made in heaven, and their voices are perfect together
Helene Fischer starts her part on the song, and her angelic voice is the perfect contradiction to Andrea Bocelli’s deep voice. The way she sounds and performs shows why she is a superstar in her home country of Germany. After their parts, Chris Botti does another beautiful trumpet solo.
After the trumpet solo, Andrea Bocelli and Helene Fischer come back and start to sing together. The combination of their voices is breathtaking, and it makes you want them to perform more classic songs. This performance is one of a kind, and the ending is so soft and sweet, just like their whole performance.
The way their voices go with the trumpet is absolutely astounding.
When the performance comes to an end, the crowd can’t give them enough love, and you can tell they all are proud of the performance. Helene Fischer thanks David Foster and walks off stage with the elegance she brought on the stage.
