What happens when you mix Mark Ronson with The Village People? The answer is this crazy video!
Working in emergency services is no laughing matter. Every day, police officers, firefighters and first responders of all kinds tirelessly work to maintain other people’s safety.
But they can still have fun from time to time!
This video shows the brave men and women of a range of emergency services living it up in one of the best possible ways.
Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’s incredibly catchy 2015 hit Uptown Funk took the world by storm. People sang and danced to it the world over. The emergency service personnel of Rock County, Wisconsin were some of the many that loved this track.
In fact, they loved it so much, they decided to make an incredible music video of it!
The video builds itself up in a calm fashion, with firefighters and police offices walking around and prepping for the song to kick in.
Then they strut their stuff!
Over the next four minutes of content, men and women of all races join in and rock out to the funk of the song.
Small town middle America doesn’t exactly enjoy a reputation as being one of the most all-encompassing and welcoming places. But this video shows that it can be. These rescue personnel work hard and play hard with one another.
If the video weren’t fun enough, then little kids and members of the public start joining in with the action.
So the video’s heartwarming with a side of adorable!
In fact, the fun and friendliness of this video are enough to give hope to all who think negatively of Americans.
The guys and gals of this videos may not have the best dance moves in the world, and the video may not be something that could air on MTV, but that’s beside the point! It’s charming and shows that music can make us all get along.
People may have their differences, but we all love a catchy tune!
And the video has certainly struck a chord with an audience that goes beyond Rock County, Wisconsin. On YouTube, it’s been viewed by more than 8 million people. And there are also more than 1,500 comments, with many stating things like:

And the really incredible thing is that this isn’t the only video of police officers, firefighters and other emergency service workers dancing and having fun.

In Hastings, Nebraska a squad of cops decided to have a dance off. To make sure the video was fun throughout, they also introduce a burglar character, whom the police chase. This video may not have the ambitious camerawork that the Rock County Uptown Funk video had, but the dance moves are great! This video has over 2.5 million viewers.
In Dakota County, the sheriff’s office made their own dance/music tribute video. They even added their own stunts and action shots. For example, near the beginning, one member of the police department leaps out of a plane and skydives thousands of feet! Later on, there are added drone shots of police cars, boats and other vehicles in action! And if that weren’t good enough, then other cops rollerskate, skateboard, and even an attorney dresses up as Elvis Presley! That video has had over 1.5 million views.
However, they made this video for a very specific reason. Apple Valley Police Department previously made their own lip sync/dance video and challenged this other police department to better them.
That video saw the police officers sing to The Lion Sleeps Tonight while dancing and visiting the animals at a petting zoo.
This is a whole new way of going viral!
