Firefighters are known for their training, skill, and absolute bravery. They are the first on the scene of a fire, and they respond to car accidents and other emergencies. They are the ones who always run toward danger while most everyone else is running away from it.

Members of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District in Rancho Cucamonga, California, meet all of the above criteria, but now they are in a league of their own in a different category: babies. Continue reading for a truly heartwarming story …

Nine firefighters from the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District became dads between March to July 2019. And they decided to take an adorable photoshoot together to celebrate.

“Say hello to Rancho Cucamonga Fire’s newest little family members! Between March and July of this year, nine babies were born in the department, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to capture this special moment. We are thrilled to see our RCFD fire family keep growing!” according to the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District’s Facebook page.

Two boys and seven girls were born during the four months between March 10 and July 12. And, of course, the photoshoot soon went viral, catching the attention of everyone who had a social media feed! Mother and firefighter wife Lindsay Shook took the photos of the adorable babies with their dads.

“I had no idea it would go viral,” said department spokesperson Gabrielle Costello, who posted the pictures, according to TODAY Parents. “We just wanted to commemorate a special time and remember the moment.”

It wasn’t planned

The pregnancies weren’t planned to be that close together, according to Costello. But everyone considers it a lucky break.

“It’s brought everyone closer together, not just the nine firefighters, but also the wives,” Costello told Today. “We share tips and sleep schedules and all that kind of new mom stuff.”

Moms share special bond

Of course, all moms share a special bond. But the wives of firefighters deal with some difficult circumstances due to their husband’s jobs. So, having an extra support system helps the new moms cope better.

“Our husbands work 24-hour shifts. During fire season they are gone for weeks on end,” Costello told Today. “It’s nice to have friends that understand the firefighter lifestyle.”

Social media mania
