Don’t you just love to see kids put their heart and soul into a performance? Whether it’s singing, art or dance, kids who are having fun doing what they love can easily bring a smile to one’s face. Kids who go after their passions can teach us all a lesson in what it means to have fun while doing something you love.
Just like five-year-old Roxy Brennan, who brought the heat during her latest performance in a dance competition.
At five years old, Roxy Brennan’s dancing prowess is undoubtedly advanced for her age.
In the 2019 Baltimore Kids Artistic Revue Dance Competition, this little girl took everyone’s breath away with her performance to the tune of “Maniac” from the film Flashdance.
The beloved classic film, starring actress Jennifer Beals and directed by Adrian Lynne, is about a nightclub dancer who is actually aspiring to become a professional ballerina. This movie was the third highest grossing film of 1983 in the United States.
Some of the songs in its official soundtrack became iconic hits such as the world renowned “Maniac”. The song is known for its fierce message about a woman’s strength and power. Will a five year old be able to give justice to such a big song? Well, little Roxy definitely showed everyone that she can!
Her routine started really strong and energetic. She gave the song a whole new meaning and her moves were absolutely incredible! Even her facial expressions were speaking to the audience, a proof that she knew what the song meant and what the song needed to give it justice.
The little dancer went all out with her performance showcasing moves that were complicated, but still filled with grace.
Her spins and splits were on point and her every move spoke volumes about her promising dancing skills.
She was such a joy to watch! Her stage presence was palpable all throughout her number and the audience were absolutely engaged in every move she made.
Her stunts included a lot of twists, splits and spins, as well as difficult moves that garnered a lot of cheers from her viewers. Little Roxy definitely lit up the stage with her amazing talent and people were in awe of her spectacular performance.
If her performance started strong, she certainly ended her routine on a strong note as well!
Her final pose was totally fitting and it capped her number with a bang.
It’s no surprise that this talented little dancer ended up as the winner in her category!
Talent truly knows no age and Roxy is proof that in going after one’s passion, a child is never too young.
As a parent, I admire the young girl who isn’t afraid to follow her dreams. More so, the parents of these young ones deserve to be commended as well.
A child as talented and confident as Roxy must have a very supportive mother and father behind her, giving her the strength and will to give her best shot in every routine she does. These kinds of performances from talented kids only go to show that helping a child develop their talents in the right way can really be beneficial.
If all children had a strong foundation and support system it’s easy to see that it would boost their confidence in what they do and push them towards pursuing their dreams.
Little Roxy is not only a unique and talented girl. Her exceptional confidence and evident love for her craft is undoubtedly admirable and awe-inspiring as well.
