Commercials have been a part of our culture since the advent of TV and radio. Super Bowl commercials are actually heavily anticipated and some ads or specific promotional campaign becomes timeless and memorable.
A lot of these commercials have been etched in our memories for decades, and we all have our favorites that deliver a hit of nostalgia.
But what happened to the famous faces from those memorable advertising campaigns?

Amos has been the Pine-Sol Lady since 1993.
She was a knowledgeable and relatable spokesperson for the cleaning product, helping to make it a household name for decades.

Diane is a stand-up comedian, but she also acts in films and stage plays. When off stage, She often performs acts of kindness in her community.

Viewers from the late 90’s and early 2000’s knew Hallie Kate Eisenberg as the cute little girl from the Pepsi commercials. She charmed millions asking for a Pepsi.
She made her on screen debut in the children’s film Paulie, playing the young owner of the title parrot. Hallie also had supporting parts in 1999’s The Insider and Bicentennial Man.
In 2000, she co-starred with Minnie Driver in the feature film Beautiful, then starred as Helen Keller in a television remake of The Miracle Worker.
Eisenberg went on to take more roles before her Broadway debut in Roundabout Theatre’s production of Clare Boothe Luce’s play The Women.

Eisenberg’s brother is actor Jesse Eisenberg. After her many roles, Hallie stopped acting so she could attend college. She is still active on social media, and many people still recognize her for her early roles.


Donna Loren, The Dr. Pepper Girl – Then
Donna Loren was Dr. Pepper’s most prominent spokesperson from 1963 to 1968. She promoted the company in print, TV, and radio appearances, all while performing as a live singer.
Loren helped promote stars such as Dick Clark, the Beach Boys, and more.
She periodically releases clips of her singing performances on YouTube.

Loren has continued writing and releasing new material for her fans, including a memoir.
On October 20, 2017, Loren was inducted into the Venice High School Hall of Fame at the school’s Homecoming. She’s a graduate of class 1963.
In August 2020, she began hosting Love’s A Secret Weapon Podcast, an audio memoir where she’d read passages from her completed memoir manuscript and conversations with her collaborator Adam Gerace.


Jesse Heiman, The Guy From The GoDaddy Commercial – Then
Jesse Heiman was the envy of millions of viewers when he appeared in GoDaddy’s Super Bowl commercial in 2013. A commercial where he got to kiss supermodel Bar Refaeli as race car driver Danica Patrick watches.
This sent Heiman into the showbiz stratosphere, leading to him kissing other female celebrities, including Extra host Maria Menounos.

Ben Curtis, The Dell Dude – Then
Dell computers aimed to target a younger demographic, so they introduced Steven, AKA the Dell Dude. He is one of the most iconic commercial characters of the early 2000s.
Ben Curtis plays the goofy teen in Dell commercials where he persuades others to buy the brand’s products.

Curtis was arrested for possession of weed in 2003, resulting in his career taking a slight downturn. He’s appeared in some films and plays since, but he hasn’t achieved the level of success as some of his fellow commercial actors.
In 2015, Curtis took on a recurring role on Adult Swim’s the Jack and Triumph Show, where he played a twist on his iconic Dell Dude character.
He is currently a life coach with a huge following on social media.

Hodgman appeared in a series of Apple ads from 2006 to 2010, playing a personal computer in human form alongside Justin Long’s personified Mac.
The two debate on who’s better at certain tasks. Apple unsurprisingly wins, but it’s Hodgman’s charm that really makes the ads work.

Orlando Jones, The Guy From Those 7up Commercials – Then
Jones played a fake spokesperson for 7up from 1999 to 2002. He appeared in several well known commercials, including the beloved “Show Us Your Cans” ad.

Since his commercial days, Jones went on to have a successful film and television career. His memorable role in Sleepy Hollow, along with other parts in other shows and movies made him a well-known name in the cult fan community.


Wendy Kaufman, The Snapple Lady – Then
She was a real-life Snapple employee so Kaufman took it upon herself to answer fan letters. The brand capitalized on her good nature and quirky personality, soon making her brand ambassador.
In their commercials, Kaufman would pop up over the Snapple reception counter, saying she received a fan letter, before bringing the actual fan on screen.
It was her energetic, fun, and lovable personality that helped boost sales of the drink in the 1990s.

Kaufman left Snapple in 2008 when Cadbury Schweppes, Snapple’s parent company, offered her a contract that she called “one-sided and worth nothing.”
Good for her. The Snapple Lady has held onto her signature wit and sass to this day.


Jerry Lambert, The PS3 Executive – Then
Lambert played the role of Kevin Butler from 2009 to 2011. He was a fictional Sony executive who wanted to prove why PlayStation 3 is the best choice in all categories imaginable. His deadpan comedic delivery in the “It Only Does Everything” campaign made Butler a likable and fun “representative” for the console.
In 2012, Sony sued Lambert for trademark infringement after an appearance in a Bridgestone commercial featuring the Nintendo Wii. A settlement was reached months later when Lambert agreed to not appear in any video game promotions for the next two years.

Lambert continues to work as an actor, appearing in films like 2014’s Horrible Bosses 2. And since 2017, he has had a recurring role as Principal Ablin on the ABC sitcom American Housewife.


Demetri Goritsas, The Slim Jim Guy – Then
Demetri Goritsas brought new life to the Slim Jim brand in the 1990s, playing a human version of the meat snack with the edgy catchphrase “Eat Me!”
Whether you loved the ads or hated them, the Slim Jim guy was a ubiquitous presence on TV in the ’90s.
Goritsas continues to pursue a career in acting and has appeared in several small film and TV roles, including a part in Snowden.

David Leisure, The Isuzu Pitchman – Then
David Leisure was the fictional pitchman Joe Isuzu in Isuzu’s North American promotional campaigns. He played the role from 1986 to 1990, and again from 1999 to 2001.
Leisure promoted the car brand through a humorous combination of lies and hyperbole, and Joe Isuzu was certainly one of the most interesting commercial characters of the era.

Leisure enjoyed a fairly stable career throughout the years.
He has numerous film credits and recurring roles in several popular soap operas such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show, The Wayans Bros., Touched by an Angel, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Renegade, The Golden Girls, The Equalizer, Falcon Crest, The Brady Bunch Movie, and Power Rangers Wild Force.


John Gilchrist, Mikey From The Life Cereal Commercials – Then
Little Mikey was super adorable in those Life cereal commercials. He played the stereotype of kids being really picky eaters, so the classic 1972 commercial had him notoriously hard-to-please.
But Mikey enjoyed a bowl of Life cereal, which surprised his older brothers.
This commercial was so beloved that it stayed in regular rotation on screen for over 12 years.

There were rumors that Gilchrist died from eating a combination of Pop Rocks and soda, but John is alive and well. He became the director of media sales for the MSG Network in 2012.
Gilchrist claims he has no recollection of filming the iconic commercial.

Vanessa Branch was the Orbit Gum Girl from 2006 to 2010, with each ad featuring her in a clean, white dress, while surrounded by dirty environments and characters.
The commercials end with Branch saying that the gum would clean your teeth “no matter what”.

In 2010, Branch was replaced by Farris Patton as the Orbit Gum Girl. She focused on her modeling and acting career, with short stints in several TV shows, and a small supporting role in thePirates of the Caribbeanfranchise.
Branch has played leading roles in numerous Chinese films in Mandarin Chinese. She has a son named Jack, born October 11, 2016.


Paul Marcarelli, The Verizon Test Man – Then
Paul Marcarelli was the Verizon “Test Man” from 2002 to 2011. He would appear in busy locations, asking the person on the other end of the phone whether they could “hear him now.”
The commercials aimed to promote Verizon as having the most cellular coverage in the nation. It was the running gag and Marcarelli’s consistent character that brought a familiar identity to the brand.

Marcarelli’s contract with Verizon ended in 2011. He became a spokesperson for rival cell network Sprint in 2016, even appearing in a commercial with his real-life husband Ryan Brown.

Carly Foulkes was the T-Mobile Girl in 2010. The Canadian-American actress took part in several commercials for the brand, where she’d often make fun of the iPhone 4.
Her stunning looks and adorable personality earned her many fans, even as the character transitioned from pink and white sundresses to leather jackets and a motorcycle.

Maria Bamford played the role of a zany Target shopper in a series of commercials for the 2009-2010 holiday season. Her massive personality made the campaign a really fun addition to the usual holiday commercial craze found at the end of every year.

Goldsmith promoted Dos Equis beer for almost a decade between 2007 and 2016. Surrounded by beautiful women, he is the so-called “Most Interesting Man in the World”
He would discuss his over-the-top adventures, then his preference for and importance of Dos Equis in his life.
The Most Interesting Man in the World quickly became a pop culture phenomenon. There have been countless copycats, parodies, and memes, most of which are enjoyed by men.

Goldsmith is actually an accomplished actor and talent outside of the many (and very manly) Dos Equis promotions. He has continued to lead a successful TV career throughout the years, but his many memes and parodies are still out there.
