This may be one of the best things to come out of this chaotic time.

All the quarantines and lockdowns going on have gotten people restless and turning to social media for news and much needed relief. Then there are those who go the extra mile and decide to have a little fun through creativity. It’s not a revolution the world is going through but a pandemic but…

Still, the Marsh family from Kent in the UK decided to have a go with a parody about being quarantined. They are sing, singing the songs of angry men and women stuck inside. Well not quite angry, just bored out of their minds.

From the musical “Les Miserables“, and adapted for the current times, the Marsh family of six bring you, “One Day More.”

Ben and Danielle Marsh, cool parents, got their kids to voice out their different frustrations on being stuck inside and added it to their own struggles. The family practiced a few times during dinner before recording two takes of the song. It’s hilarious yet smart.

With a touch of creativity, they change the lyrics to fit our times, echoing the many frustrations of kids, teenagers, and most especially the parents.

Mom starts it off and delivers the words all moms will understand.

“One day more. Another day, another destiny. Shopping for online delivery. I tried again only to find there’s nothing ’til September time.”

Her second son chimes in singing how he had no football match that day, and while mom sings background, his sisters join in on how their grandparents are miles away and that they are heartbroken as the grandparents cannot work Skype. Brilliant!

The two sisters take their turns singing about how they can’t meet their friends and how they are getting bored.

The eldest, the brother, holds up a red jacket on a wooden stick and with his “manly” voice sings about online school and his many frustrations with it.

His younger brother, as all brothers do, roasts him about his hair then asks if… he will change his underwear. Big bro states then that they are sharing a bathroom.

Dad finally gets his turn.

“One more day’s home education. Let’s just let them run amuck. We’re not ready for these schoolboys ’cause they just don’t give a f*…”

That last line is a salute to all the fathers stuck indoors too. He takes a swig from a bottle as his kids sing about his drinking and mom’s exasperation. What a family. They must be fun neighbors.

From respirators to vaccines, to volunteering and random rants, the singing is actually impressive in a way when you consider these guys aren’t actors or artists. The harmonies and overlapping of verses were equally impressive.

Nearly a month now as of posting and they have over 5.4 million views and 236k likes. What’s even cooler is that actress Anne Hathaway, who played Fantine in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables, posted the video to her Facebook and Instagram account with her caption as “Bravo!!!!!

It’s hard to imagine the level of coordination they needed as most families wouldn’t even think of doing something like this. But hey, at the end of the day, they dreamed a dream.
