Lois Bielefeld is a photographer from Milwaukee — she’s been traveling the United States (and parts of Luxembourg) documenting people’s normal, daily lives. Her primary interest, however — is weeknight dinners.
The project is aptly named “Weeknight Dinners.” Bielefeld describes the focus as “the typical evening meal when food and space often become secondary to the busy workday. I photographed the portraits Monday through Thursday evenings when time constraints due to work, parenting, and family activities often dictate dinner rituals.”
Bielefeld only gave her subjects one instruction — to go about their normal dinner routine, as they would on any other weeknight.
Take a glimpse into people’s lives across the United States. Even the mundane act of having a weeknight dinner at home can give amazing insight into other people’s worlds.
