Man, isn’t family just the absolute best sometimes? Sure, they can have moments when they are annoying or rude but ultimately, it is really nice to have a support system that is there for you at the end of the day.
Ariel Chu is a self-proclaimed “random dog lady” who has been building up a pretty impressive Tik Tok presence lately, currently stacking up to more than 40k followers. She doesn’t have too many videos up on her page yet but the ones she does have already have thousands of views.
However, her following is mostly thanks to one extra special video that blew up, gaining almost 9 million views.
There’s a reason why this video is a big hit on the video platform too — it is so sweet.
Chu had an interesting story to tell her followers. Basically, she had her eyes set on a very pretty dress. But the problem was that it was far too expensive.
“…The dress I like is $727,” she shared with a bunch of sad faces.
Chu showed her grandma the designer dress and after she found out just how much it cost, she wasn’t going to let her purchase it. At the same time though, she wanted her granddaughter to be happy and have the dress she wanted.
So she did what any thoughtful grandmother would do and she replicated the dress herself.
Chu then goes on to show footage of her grandmother hard at work. We mean it when she say she is replicating the dress. She shows off all of her skills as she meticulously takes measurements and uses the sewing machine like an absolute champ.
Her grandmother looks super happy to be doing it too — no complaints here! She is just excited to give her granddaughter what she wants!
Grandma knows best, always!
After seeing a couple photos of the dress online, she is instantly able to put it together with her own hands. It really is magical, the amount of talent she has is crazy impressive!
“She’s so talented,” Chu wrote. “My real life fairy godmother is my grandma.”
While she’s making the dress she continues to look at pictures of the dress which is mostly black with some white details. It’s long and sleek and has a sweetheart neckline. It’s very chic and classy, that is for sure!
The fact that her grandmother was able to make something on this level just goes to show how talented and skilled she is.
At the end of the video we see that the grandma completed the dress and, to no one’s surprise, she completely nailed it. It looks just like the $700 designer version!

Chu shows off the dress in the mirror and it seems to fit her perfectly. It’s probably even better than she got it made by her grandma because that way, it is perfectly tailored to her body shape!
