We wish every neighbor was like this.

Quarantine in the year of 2020 hasn’t been easy for anyone. Not adults, and definitely not children.

This 4-year-old girl was actually feeling very lonely in lockdown, so she tried to get creative and spend her time on things that would make help her feel less alone. Because sometimes that is all we need — an imaginary world to escape to.

So the little girl built a fairy garden near a tree in Los Angeles, CA.

And to her surprise, her neighbor — a photographer named Kelly Victoria — stumbled upon the lovely fairy garden that the young girl had built.

Kelly noticed how lonely she was, so she decided to help and make her day just a little bit brighter.

There was a note attached to the garden. It shared how she “wanted to spread some cheer.” She definitely ended up succeeding in that goal as she cheered up all of her neighbors along with thousands of people on the internet after going viral with her beautiful idea.

Kelly took to Twitter to share the story that would end up going viral.

“I think everyone could use a lighthearted/happy story right now so here goes,” Kelly wrote.

“At the beginning of the pandemic, I went through some painful personal stuff and would often go out at night for long walks because no one was around and I couldn’t sleep anyway,” she began.

Down her street, Kelly noticed someone had set up a few small objects in a tree planter. Then she noticed the little girl’s note about feeling lonely, and she realized that what she had stumbled upon was a fairy garden.

“The next day I wrote a little note to her, pretending to be a fairy named Sapphire that had come to live in the tree because she had set it up so nicely and I left it on the tree that night on my walk and said I would gift her with a magical fairy dice,” Kelly wrote.

“I wasn’t sure if she’d respond or even find the note but it was fun just imagining what she’d think,” continued.

“The next night on my walk I found this and immediately burst into tears,” Kelly shared along with a photo of a lengthy note that was sent in response to Sapphire.

The little girl also sent hand drawn photos that were just as cute.

And thankfully, Kelly also made it known to the young girl’s parents that she was not some creep they needed to worry about.

“So I left a bunch of my die that had small imperfections and left her another note and also a little extra note for her parents with my name and phone number so they could contact me and know I wasn’t some creep leaving notes for their small child,” she added.

Then she received even more letters from the little girl.

“Doing this every night gave me purpose in a horribly painful and lonely time. I looked forward to my days again and I started ordering art supplies and little trinkets to leave her,” Kelly wrote.

“We wrote back and forth throughout the last 9 months, helping each other feel less lonely,” the photographer added.
