If ever you find yourself in a very unfortunate situation of being tied up with zip ties, then this video is for you.
And well… let’s hope you never ever find yourself in such a situation.
ITS Tactical / Imminent Threat Solutions is a really cool channel that teaches everything from survival to escape and everything related to life threatening situations.

The first defense is still situational awareness.
If you find yourself in a questionable part of town, or that you are being tailed by a car, or even stalked by a person, find a safe place and call the cops.
Don’t ever try to confront and fight whoever it is that’s following you.
It’s not a Hollywood movie.

Still, it never hurts to learn escape tricks such as these.
Taking self-defense classes also helps.
You can never be too prepared out there, especially nowadays when life is way tougher.

Your wrists are zip tied tight, you’re panicking, and you feel helpless.
Normal reactions for anyone in this situation, but there is a way of getting rid of that tight plastic binding your wrists.
Deep breathing now, and try to relax.
You’ll need strength for this one.

The instructional video shows a man standing in front of an open car trunk, which heightens the need for this simple trick to be learned by all.
It is a very real, very common crime.

What you want to do is use your mouth to move the zip tie around so that the locking bar rests in between your thumbs.
This is the one time that being chicken actually works.
With the locking bar in the middle, you’ll want to raise your hands over your head, then come down towards your lower chest or belly in one fluid motion with elbows out like chicken wings.

One strong fluid motion should do it.
Once you come down on your body, make sure your shoulder blades touch.
Raise your hands, come down swiftly, shoulder blades together, and just watch how the zip tie splits as you hit your body.

It may take some practice but it does work. And it could mean the difference between life and death.
A viewer named kcoffey gets it,
“I hope to NEVER find myself in a situation where I need to use these techniques, but I would definitely use these techniques if I do find myself in a situation where I am restrained. I seriously appreciate the fact that y’all took the time to experiment, make, and upload these videos; these tips are beneficial to everyone, but especially girls.”
Hitting the gym to build strength and endurance will help as well.

It’s not just for yourself. These lessons may have you helping others.
And remember to keep 911 on your speed dial. Stay safe out there!
